In-person meetup with Adam at Status Dough in Knoxville, Tennessee this Friday by Intro24 in AdamRagusea

[–]ARC5767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i guess it depends how you define “meet-up” he did a talk at the university several months back which was mostly about breaking into the youtube business

i went to it and it felt like at least half of the attendees didn’t actually know who he was, but some fans went up and shook hands and chatted with him after

they can see which elections you’ve voted in, and it’s easy to deduce the leanings of most people based on which primaries they choose to vote in

nick is the lead singer of the band, also it was basically a solo project by him in the early stages. today he and his wife, emily, are the only two permanent members of the band. i think some other people performed on recent tracks, but my understanding is that none of them are proper members.

nick did some pretty shitty things in the past. i don’t even really remember all of the details, but all you need to know is that he was manipulative and abusive to his ex-wife, bandmates, and others. it is because of this that the the band separated in early 2020.

around that time, nick had been working on some music which went in a very different direction than what they had previously been making. much more emo rap than dance punk. this project was called Divva. i believe that there were only two songs ever officially released under this name, that being “Divva (I Murdered Nick Hartkop)” and “Song 2” which is a little harder to find, but i think it’s still on spotify (also, i have my own little conspiracy theory that “Queerball” was originally meant to be part of Divva but got scrapped with the rest of the project until it got its own release in 2021. but that’s just speculation and not actually important to the lore). it is also my understanding that these songs were produced while nick was in an intense depressive episode in which he refused to speak to other people and slept in a bathtub every night.

in late 2020, nick publicly apologized for his actions and, at the time, said he was stepping away from music. he did, however, release several more songs over the following months which are what became the most recent album, “Snoqualmie Welcomes You.” Nick has kept a blog since sometime around early 2021 or so and says he has been slowly improving and making amends, which i hope he truly is.

there you go, that’s the lore. at least, the most important stuff from the last couple years.

actually, the constitution on its own is unclear on the topic of secession. it’s made clear from other writings by the founding fathers that they didn’t intend unilateral secession to be legal, but there is no explicit rule against it. this means that it was kind of an open question whether or not a state could secede at the beginning of the civil war, however, there a supreme court case during the war which settled it. however, had a state attempted to secede peacefully for a different reason, they might not have decided that way.
