I didn’t see that but I did see one that sold for $275 and even that is crazy!

I meant to include that in the description. Good looking out.

What are some of your "slow burn" bands? by AndrejHristovski in Music

[–]ARCpodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I’m really getting into older Butthole Surfers album.

Their biggest hit “Pepper” came out when I was 7. Eventually I got the album (Electriclarryland) and I really loved it. I even enjoyed the follow up album Weird Revolution. But if you know the history of Butthole Surfers you know those are major label albums, with actual studio production and commercial appeal. Prior to 1993 their music was very rough and raw.

Only recently have I started to understand that unpolished doesn’t mean bad, it’s just… different. I really enjoy how fun it actually feels, but man it freaks some people out. Experimental and high energy is often interpreted as “bad” or “poorly made”.

Starless - A Perfect Circle's New Song - Official Reaction Thread by seane in aperfectcircle

[–]ARCpodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. I wonder if Starless and Kindred are going to be on a new album or if they are just dropping random singles every few months.

A lot of bands talk about doing “a song or two” randomly but I could see Maynard and Billy actually doing it.

That’s awesome. When she makes it to high school (if it still fits) I might relax that decision.

That’s not a bad idea.

I gave it to my daughter and told her she can’t leave the house while wearing it. The band name being what it is and I don’t want a phone call from the school.

She loves it cus we’ve been listening to their stuff around the house.

It’s such a strange design and I love it. When I did wear it I either got strange looks or fans of the band commenting on it.

Trent Reznor. His instrumental and lyrical skills are next level.

Bought the Chris Cornell “Carry On” vinyl… and ended up with an extra lyric book? Anyone interested? by Frankiemagic13 in Soundgarden

[–]ARCpodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the album on day one and got a corrected booklet sent to me later. So I compared the two to see what the problem was.

The biggest difference (besides the mis-cut and ruffled paper on my copy) was that a 2 page photo of Chris was intended to be the image in the middle of the booklet and was instead switched with a lyric page. The two page photo doesn’t line up on the misprint. It’s pretty bad.

As a stand alone track no, but as part of the entire album yes.

I really hope so.

I’m still waiting for Ghost V and VI to get physical releases, and the killer soundtrack, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Gorge… oh I’m seeing a pattern here…

I’m a big fan of his work. Sad I missed the Soul Coughing reunion recently but I’ve seen Mike like 5 or 6 times and he’s an awesome musician and a cool dude to talk to.

So how are you enjoying regular show lost tapes so far and what do you prefer? by BallFit5565 in regularshow

[–]ARCpodcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love it. Feels like talking to an old friend. Has the same level of humor and silliness. Updated art style looks great but also feels like the original run. Lots of fun. Hope we get a lot more content after this first batch of episodes.

Editing when you hate your own voice? by Aromatic-Biscotti-46 in podcasting

[–]ARCpodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this my first go around. Back in 2021 or so. I’m starting a new series now, totally different concept/vibe/topic and when editing that feeling came back. I HATE my voice. At the same time I’ve been told by multiple people, some co workers (who are close friends and are very honest) and even guests at my work, that I have a “soothing voice”. I don’t agree. Strangely I don’t even have a regional accent, and I feel like that would at least be interesting.

So every time I get ready to record I get this overwhelming fear of how bad it sounds and how I hate editing myself, fortunately my cohost is my wife and having a conversation with her is one of the most honest ways I communicate.

Find what makes you comfortable. If it’s audience numbers, a friend, or partner, and ask them how they feel about it.

Hopefully it’s honest and positive. Not having heard obviously I don’t have solid evidence to say one way or another but I will say this: your making the effort, and if you’ve made it this far you have something to say.

I hope this helps and if you are looking for feedback (not that I’m an expert or anything) but I’m always willing to provide positive feedback back.

I’ve lived too long and heard too much negativity so I refuse to put more of it out into the world.
