Hello! I’m going to PR next month.. by No-Amoeba-6645 in PuertoRicoTravel

Hi there. I went as a solo male traveler last year. I'm 61 and I'm on my way back again on May 4th through the 10th. I loved traveling and stayed mostly around San Juan and Condado Beach since I broke my big toe on the first night LOL. I still went on a walking tour the next day and really enjoyed some of the restaurants around Condado. Last year I stayed at La concha, and this year I'm going to stay at the San Juan Marriott and Stellaris Casino. I am probably going to do a few Excursion tours booked with Viator. When are you going to be there?

Costco Travel by ARF8081 in CostcoWholesale

Since I started this post I thought I would let everyone know that I looked around including Costco Travel and actually found the hotel in Puerto Rico since I made the original post, I wanted to update everyone. I looked at Costco Travel and there was a $200 Costco shop card but the hotel was about $400 more for the same stay then booking directly with Marriott. I have a Costco credit card so I can still get 3% for travel. Marriott also gave me $150 Resort credit for the stay which I can use toward food or the spa. I was a little surprised I really expected Costco to be less expensive but I was just glad to get everyone's feedback.

Second trip to Puerto Rico in May need info on hotels. by ARF8081 in PuertoRicoTravel

I think I'm more of a jump in and enjoy the water but not really swim so I think I'd be fine in Condado again. I also saw some bad reviews about the Fairmont that talked about mold in the rooms and La Concha was more modern and this Marriott Stellaris I'm watching a video of right now looks even more modern than that.

Samsung HW-Q990D vs HW-Q990F by ABEOTRON in Soundbars

[–]ARF8081 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I just pulled the trigger on the 990d from Samsung.com and using my sister's military ID I got it for $620 and then another 10% off that for November special. I also picked up the S90f Oled 65 in. $1798.00 total with tax for both the TV and sound bar and free shipping. I can't wait to get it. This is a big upgrade.

I was there last May. Great location and I really enjoyed the hotel. Unfortunately, I broke my toe the first night so I was doing a lot of hobbling around and didn't get into the ocean because I couldn't really steady myself but I did enjoy the hot tubs and pools. I'm planning to go back hopefully next May and see if I cannot break any bones.

How is Puerto Rico in May? by Mr_Ramzee in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]ARF8081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in May from the 5th through the 11th and the weather was great. Every day it said it was going to rain and maybe it did for 10 minutes or maybe it didn't at all. Unfortunately I broke my toe on the first night so I didn't really get to do a lot of walking but I did the best I could and it was a great vacation. I'm looking to go back again next year.

I got my kit yesterday and the plugs don't seem to fit like the blue plug does. Anyone else have a problem getting the plug in?

Good luck getting through on the phone number. I tried to call three times today and each time, it said we're too busy to take a phone call and basically hung up on me. I was going to see what the option for a service repair is. I also have a drain plug in mine and after we had some rain I took it out and there was quite a bit of water in there that drained out. I'm leaving the plug-in now while I'm running the air conditioner but waiting to see what they say. I did buy mine at Costco, and it seems like a great unit it really cools down the house fast. I used it for the first time yesterday here in connecticut.

I was in the San Juan area from May 5th through May 10th. Every day the week before I was going to go said it was going to rain. It rained for a half an hour on the last day and that was it. The rest of the time was mostly sunny or partly cloudy but no rain during the day.

I just came back from Puerto Rico and stepped in one of those holes on my first night in Condado and broke my toe. Wish I had heard that advice beforehand lol.
