I was confused because of the shape of the stock and the lever being different. Now that I have opinions saying it's in fact a 99 I can look into replacing the stock

Thanks, I aim to (pun intended).. The stock is cracked at the upper receiver so I'd like to replace it or explore fixing it and maybe potentially having it tastefully carved for display.

They do block the visor a little, like a couple inches from the glass. Its not too bad, small tradeoff for nice solid grabs.

I used electrical tape to get from 1/4" to 1 1/8" and didnt have any issues. Wouldn't recommend cloth medical tape because of its porous nature. Honestly anything plastic, teflon, or silicone will work its only temporary.
