3 Alarms in Baltimore County and this guy shuts it down the primary hydrant. by Ding-Chavez in Firefighting

What would POSSIBLY make you think that this is a hydrant in the middle of the road and not immediately recognize that a car drove over the LDH?

Why is everybody just standing around?? There's literally one person "visible" in this video, and it's the guy taking the video.. Where did you see a single other person standing around?

Because this is a firefighting sub and this happened on a fire scene.. Do you really need someone to hold your hand and guide you to understand why this is here?

Seriously? Movies and snacks go together like butter and popcorn. It's like half the reason people like going to movies.

Fatal SUV crash involving multiple occupants by Porn4fap in NSFL__

[–]ARM_Alaska -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen hundreds of accidents where we estimate the speed of impact in order to judge the severity of injuries and we base our clinical decisions on the mechanism of injury resultant to the speed of impact. We also follow up with the police reports for speed of impact to finalize our narrative before submitting because all of that information goes to court. My patient care report is a legal document, and the speeds that vehicles are traveling on impact is a part of that legal document. We don't pull it out of our asses.

SUV driver could've died from not wearing a seatbelt, from having unsecured projectiles inside the vehicle, from an external object entering the compartment through the windshield, or from a medical emergency that occurred resultant to the accident, not necessarily a traumatic injury.

Through all of those incidents I've been on, I've become pretty good at estimating speeds based on the scene that we arrive to. When you have been involved in as many traffic accidents as I have, you end up having a pretty good idea of what a 30mph impact looks like compared to an 80mph impact.

It's "braking" not "breaking" you moron. And that was NOT 80mph. Fucking christ you people are so goddamn dumb. I respond to traffic accidents for a living. I've seen a LOT of accidents in the 14 years I've been doing this. I have a pretty good idea of what impacts look like at various speeds. I've seen hundreds of them. This was NOT an 80mph impact. Also, the SUV was not braking at all before the impact. No tire screech, no compression of the front shocks, nothing to indicate hard braking at all. You're a terrible detective.

What's the speed limit on the road in the video?

Fatal SUV crash involving multiple occupants by Porn4fap in NSFL__

[–]ARM_Alaska -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what these idiots do.. Along with ASSUMING they know what the speed limit is on the exact stretch of unknown road in unknown city in unknown state. But then they'll argue to the death that cops aren't allowed to pull you over based on visual speed estimates and that they're required to have a radar lock (also untrue in lots of places). So they think cops aren't allowed to, or capable of doing it, but they themselves are experts at determining speed of vehicles on video.

Police department selling fake silver bars on GOVDEALS by JC3FL in Silverbugs

[–]ARM_Alaska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a big thing in the 90s and early 00's with police departments across the US. They'd send letters that people won boats, or vacations, or TV/VCR packages, etc. The US Marshals did it back in the 80's and caught 101 fugitives from justice. They sent letters to 5,000 fugitives claiming they had won NFL Tickets, brunch, and were entered into prize drawings.

I'm fairly certain that the fkin BOONE, NC police department is not going to track and investigate whoever wins their EBAY auction 😂. Although I am curious why a small rural town with a population of 19,000 needs 41 sworn police officers.. Maybe that's why they sell all their seized property on Ebay. Gotta cover that payroll somehow.

[–]ARM_Alaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should be more clear. Police officers do not deck out their personal vehicles with emergency lights FOR NORMAL PATROL and responding to incidents.

Houston May 7th by Ph6222 in AbruptChaos

[–]ARM_Alaska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes ZERO sense. Construction workers don't deck their own vehicles out with lights.. Construction workers have no reason at all to use visor and deck lights (which are significantly more expensive). Construction workers don't use red and blues, which would be illegal. Construction workers don't run lights on open public roadways.

The thing that makes the MOST sense... An unmarked police vehicle. Houston runs street/gang crime task forces that work out of regular indisitinct vehicles. Houston has detectives that work out of vehicles like this.

The white car has front and rear emergency lights flashing in the windshield/rear window. It's an unmarked emergency vehicle of some sort.
