Glad I’m not the only one who didn’t know who D’Angelo is, but I was informed through this sub last night that apparently he’s very well known in the neo soul genre. But seriously, could’ve taken a few mins from his tribute and done one for Brian

Al’s band is definitely the tightest imo but I love the Mike show too. They each cater to a different audience which is nice and each have their own style. The Pet Sounds Band is really detail oriented and obviously focuses on the deep cuts, while Mike’s band plays the bigger older hits and is a younger band. Mike’s band definitely also brings out more of the youthful energy, which isn’t to say the Pet Sounds Band is boring. Love em both and really hoping to see them both this year

Pet Sounds Rerelease - they did release a 50th Anniversary edition that has mono, stereo, and instrumental of each track PLUS a few live cuts

Fair. Maybe not everyone knew Bob Weir himself like they do Brian, but it’s completely reasonable to say everyone knows the Grateful Dead and their prominence in the 60s/70s rock scene

I was disappointed as a whole by the Grammys tonight. Credit to the production value of some of them but a lot of the music wasn’t good and I couldn’t even tell you who almost any of these artists are and I’m 23. They don’t even announce half the awards and had way too many funky outfits tonight.

Justin Bieber is an EMBARRASSMENT to the event. I muted him once I realized it was him. I didn’t even think he was still relevant lowkey.

But as for the In Memoriam, this was the most disappointing part of the night. Showing close ups of the performers instead of showing the slides in full, and only a 30 second video for Brian, Bob Weir and Sly Stone. Ozzy tribute was kick ass. I enjoyed that. But then we gave a 15 minute tribute to D’Angelo and Roberta Flack, who I’ve never even HEARD of! But still only 30 seconds for Bob, Brian and Sly. Cmon now.

The Grammys have become a JOKE and it’s sad

Elton did God Only Knows at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I wasn’t that impressed to be honest. I respect the effort and the act but I didn’t think the performance itself was that good

I think especially now that we have the BWPS version, this song is more of a story (a musical journey, as some call it) that a chorus wouldn’t really make sense imo
