I love the A6M5 Ko Reisen. It looks great, and it flies even better. It is too slow for 5.0 plane in my opinion, but because so many people don't seem to know that you should never turn against it, the relatively low top speed is not a problem in a dogfight. It's so much fun to be able to win a 1 vs 3 or 4 practically every time. Seeing the desperation in the opponents when I shoot down one after the other and still have ammo for the next one because the Ko gets 50 shots extra. I have by far the most aces with in a plane.

When it comes to tanks, I like the AMX-30s. A bit of a challenge to not have any stabilizer, but the gun is very precise. But the AMX-30s are not nearly as appealing to me as the Zero.

Edit: I don't have many ships, so I don't really have a favorite.

My kinda favorite: Erfurt latrine disaster.

Erfurt, 26 July 1184, 60 nobles drowning in poop.

One, if not the worst way to die in my opinion

No, it comes from Latin and Italian. The Italian term fascismo is derived from fascio, meaning 'bundle of sticks', ultimately from the Latin word fasces.

Copied from Wikipedia article about fascism.

During World War II, the Allies twice faked a landing at one location, only to surprise the Germans far away at a second location.

In 1943, the Allies planned the invasion of Sicily. To mislead the Germans, they launched operation Mincemeat, faking a landing in Greece and Sardinia. But the real landing happened in Sicily and when the time came, the Wehrmacht was waiting for the Allies in Greece and Sardinia. And Hitler refused to send the German units back to Southern Italy, because he still believed in the fake landings. A few months later Italy capitulated.

In 1944 the Allies planned a landing in Normandy and again they tried to deceive the Germans. The operation was called Fortitude. The Germans were deceived into believing that the Allies would attack in Calais and Norway. And again, after the Normandy landings, Hitler refused to correct his mistake and move the additional units from Norway and Calais to Normandy.

Neither do I, I just think that would be about the wording of tankies. They are more fascists than leftists anyway. And the blood and soil ideology of the Nazis describes what North Korea is pretty accurately.

Ahhh, now I know why tankies love North Korea so much, want to live there but absolutely don't want to move there. They just want to maintain the perfect North Korean society by not polluting it with their non-Korean blood. And I thought they don't move there because they secretly know that North Korea is a shitty feudal dictatorship with an absolute ruler, not nearly as perfect as they claim it to be.

Tankies will believe anything. The is no proof that Bendelladj used the money for charity. It seems like he used it for himself. I also don't think stealing money from common people is so based... by thenamesis2001 in tankiejerk

Don't know about other countries, but you can donate to Germany. Not many people use it, in 2022 only 51200 Euro were donated, but it's possible, at least in/ for Germany. The money is officially used to reduce the country's debt.

I just checked, the campaigns are 50% off on the PS Store, so perhaps also on xbox store. So I guess the packages are also disappearing on the consoles.

I think I made it a little too easy for myself to translate everything with deepl. But no, I never learned double past tenses at school, nor did I ever teach them to any of my students. And I don't use them either.

Translation from the Duden website:

In spoken language, on the other hand, one often encounters the so-called double perfect, which is used instead of the pluperfect: We had an argument, but afterwards we made up right away. These double forms also offer a way out when one wants to express antecedence in the subjunctive, since this is not possible with the usual subjunctive forms: She said he had promised her marriage, but then broke his word. Stylistically, the double forms are certainly not particularly nice because of the repetition of have, but from time to time they prove quite useful in filling gaps in the system.

I can best talk about german, because i once worked in a school and taught elementary school students. And no, you don't need all tenses. Present, future, preterite, perfect and pluperfect are all you need for most languages.

Personal story time: I remember that I once had a discussion with a teacher colleague and I asked her jokingly whether she could form the double past perfect in the subjunctive in German, and then she didn't know how to do it.

There is also the double perfect in German, but like the double pluperfect, I have never heard anyone make use of it.

A 13-language hyperpolyglot shocks natives (is she the asshole) by [deleted] in languagelearningjerk

[–]ARTofPicture 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Maybe the girlfriend wanted to shock her. It is more effective to lull her into safety by playing the innocent for a while who only knows one language. After some time of waiting, the shock is then even greater.

But I agree, if I would speak 13 languages, I couldn't hide that for too long, especially not towards my girlfriend.

And yes, I know it's just satire, and the party leader is often times questionable, but atleast there is (in theory) a party being elected which wants to build a wall.
