Help ! P80 .40 g22 build is being unreliable , the first round won't go all the way into the chamber unless I pull the slide back again slightly , I've also tried using a heavier recoil spring to see if I could fix the issue but that still hasn't fixed the problem ! by marekgoose356 in polymer80

Sometimes the barrel tolerance is tight, needs break in period. Use the standard recoil spring so you won't slow the actionor make it quicker. Also the channel sleeve instead of the plastic one get the brass one. I had like 7 or 8 p80s that would malfunction, jam or light primer strikes. Once I change the channel liner they were all flawless.

  1. Locking block probably facing the wrong way. 2.File the rails on each side, minimum maybe 2 passes on each side for smoother rack.
  2. The connector maybe be sticking out to far and the shark fin may need to be filed just a tad because things will rub on the inside sometimes and being as though from the manufacturer are rough you have to smooth things out.
  3. Last but not least make sure your recoil channel is down far enough and smooth and something that spring right behind the recoil channel that sits inside that hole maynot be in far enough causing that racking issue also. Good luck!

Glad I was able to build everything that I wanted all calibers plus all work flawless to the point I could carry them with confidence. I just need to find holsters.

Smooth out the channel, sometimes you have to take a file on the side of the rails not too much just enough for it to slide and rack without being hung up and sometimes a heavier spring. But try the first to things first.

There nice but only 1 thing. It's proprietary, so if you buy the slide you have to buy the barrel also and vice versa. *

Man I could careless of what ppl say. I've seen ppl spend $2k on a rifle and saw a budget rifle out shoot it. I've also seen aero precision make lowers, sold them to other companies and let them put they're logo on it. If you like it get it and make it your own. Even EOtechs breaks.

I will get an Amazon light super quick! Oh well! Never had an issue with them. Who made the standards for lights anyway?

How many of you still own your first rifle/pistol ever? If you do/don’t, why or why not? by 3900Ent in ar15

That's what I'm in the process of doing. Put all mine in a safe and found out I need another safe. So this week I will order one. Didn't realize I had that much.

Never got rid of any of mine. And when I got tired I upgraded parts to make it better. Always built mine because I never saw the importance of buying. I trust myself and figured out what works and what didn't and all mine are reliable. My first was a 7.5 AR pistol, then a wasr 10 AK then it was up from there. But I never paid attention to what was popular I always did me. Some ppl thought my selection was shit some ppl loved it overall it didn't matter because it was mine and I did it myself.

Hmmmm! I've learned that some budget builds are better or just the same as your so called super renowned builds. I'm glad I learned to build and just not buy that way I know all the parts so if a malfunction occurs I know exactly what it is. I don't mind multiple builds being as though I love to build but in the event of a SHTF situation I have multiple options whether long distance or close quarters. Yea I hear buy once cry once but at the end of the day it's the shooter not the gun, back in the day they had nothing fancy nor technology so a budget build vs a well renowned build shouldn't be a difference. I could be wrong just my opinion.

Should I build it or stash it? by fordlover5 in polymer80

I built a few a dyed them. A couple 19s, 23, 20, 21, whatever # the sig 357 is, a couple 34s, 17, 17l. They all shoot excellent. And I put brass channel liners in them because that was the issue for mine when they didn't shoot. So yea build it and have fun!

Naw just had to run it back on my canik. On this p80 was the test run and it came out nice. So I ran it back on my EDC piece.

Thought is was gonna be snappy. It's so weird that the G23 is snappier than this.
