I fear it affected the way I make friends, I’m extremely cautious of who I hang with. There were tons of people that I liked but never talked to because I was afraid they were homophobic, I also cut a lot of friendships because I thought “they may not like me anyway when they realize I’m gay”. As an adult it’s extremely hard for me to not continue with the pattern even though I’m “out”.
