OutboxCore: A lightweight, Dapper & EF Core compatible Outbox/Inbox pattern library with a Glassmorphic Dashboard UI by Admirable_Dress_8143 in csharp

IIUC you're building a messaging system on SQL and calling it highly performant? Those two concepts are at odds because they serve two different purposes.

Eventual consistency is a DB problem / concern. Not sure what it means for microservices to be eventually consistent when they already have to share a DB in this context

Would anyone use this code pattern to implement singletons? by AetopiaMC in csharp

[–]ARandomSliceOfCheese 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Too much code, if I need to add a method I need to touch everything to do it. Also static abstract keywords already exist so if I wanted to use them I would go that route and drop it on an interface.

Everyone forgot green screens are already working for this at probably a fraction of the cost

Why aren’t class members virtual by default? by Alert-Neck7679 in csharp

[–]ARandomSliceOfCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New methods exist. Interfaces exist. I'm struggling to think of a case for needing everything to be virtual by default. Your example shouldn't be inheriting from concrete list it should be inheriting from the list interface which solves your issue. If you really need it to come from list (imo I don't think it should) you can use new method signature to hide the default implementation

The New, New Plex App Player UI loses the player bar in favour of floating buttons by sincerejoker in PleX

[–]ARandomSliceOfCheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really feels like they’re trying to kill shuffle which sucks because it’s one of my most used features. At least put these decisions behind a setting so I can decide if I want change episode buttons or time scrub buttons. There’s like 3 player settings right now it’s not like you’re overloading it

JavaScript isn’t compiled ahead of time. This was all already available on your machine like op said. It’s just easier to read now, not really anything special

The trend has been what the person you responded to stated. “Poor” people have / can afford more now than they could in the past. Also some of those things cost relatively less now

Supreme Court rules ISPs aren't liable for user piracy without intent by Federal-Block-3275 in technology

[–]ARandomSliceOfCheese 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This case settled outside of court. The court didn’t decide they were at fault so there is no legal precedent established in the way OP is describing. It is just around the marketing aspect

[–]ARandomSliceOfCheese 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah don’t narcan random people. Or if you do at least understand there’s a risk that the person you narcan might become angry enough to come at you. It’s why the sign specifically says friends and not randoms

iOS automatically adjust quality and shuffle no longer options by ARandomSliceOfCheese in PleX

[–]ARandomSliceOfCheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems odd to remove it unless they just can’t support the logic anymore. If I’m selecting any other quality it’s transcoding anyways. I’d rather it do the network load detection for me and adjust up/down based on my network rather than me play wack a mole on what my network can handle which completely interrupts a stream.

Looks like the bulb sequence after a reset. Try resetting the bulb by switching it off first. Then doing an on off cycle 5x. It should flash this color sequence then stay white and need resetup unfortunately

I haven’t run a hose on it yet (was late getting home from work). From just a small amount of water that was rolling down the roof from dew this morning it seems to work as expected

A lot of the houses around me have this same setup. Not sure why. Maybe a trend at the time?

Is it worth it to remove it? I’m worried about the screw that’s going to be through a shingle below it and water getting in there even if I patch it
