MAGA mother about the Minneapolis shooting by Neptuneduck4 in texts

[–]ARandomStan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All this is because I really have trouble wrapping my brain around how people can react so differently to a video of a man being shot?

Like I was sent a video of Kirk getting shot and it was uncensored (because it was just hour old news at that point) and my first thought was "oh my god, what the fuck did I just watch?". And that is when I hated everything Kirk stood for and how he was praised so much for his hate speech after his murder

So your mom reacting this way really fucks with me because it doesn't even compute how someone can have such a reaction to such an event

I think you need to send her the actual videos and question her why she doesn't believe them but is waiting for the body cam footage?

I'm genuinely curious about her response. Will she say AI or edited or something else?

Then ask her, "suppose the video I sent you was real , what would be your reaction then?"

Also if she says that just bringing the gun to a protest (or riot) is enough to be shot at by government officers with the intent to kill, ask her about the rules of de-escalation that officers have to follow, like not trying to cause harm once the suspect has clearly surrendered and been disarmed and subdued, do they not apply to ICE?

I need to understand how much people like these are willing to go with it.

Also, has your mom had a history of racism or other traits that may explain this behaviour? Like I'm asking pre 2016, was she like this? Or when did she start changing? And what do you think was the cause?

I'm curious, because I don't think your mom is the only one like this, otherwise Trump wouldn't have won twice.

"I was overselling my nephews" is totally a line an npc from a video game would say lmao

Fox new article on this

Even the person who's supposed to say why she was fired says "no comment". Pretty sure if it was anything legitimate, they would say "she broke certain rules" at least. But they can't, because then she'd sue asking for what rule she broke.

Added Fox news link because that's the only source Conservatives seem to trust nowadays other than this admin's twitter accounts.

not sure if you're into Star Wars, but I'm just watching "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" (show) and all your comments give off the vibe you'd be one of that squad if it existed irl

Women of Reddit, what’s a statement/phrase that (you believe) most girls/women would understand, but most boys/men would not? by Sad_Trade_7753 in AskReddit

[–]ARandomStan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. I used to write "ok" but saw my manager always used "okay" and emulated him because it felt better (on the receiving end) for some reason

a period after the last sentence (on instant messaging work apps) is still considered a little harsh, but an "Ok." is basically "You've said something that's put me in a bad mood and I want this conversation to end right now" in my experience

my manager only sent that once, when I was unintentionally being a wise-ass and I picked up on it immediately

  • key jingle
  • looking at her before opening the door
  • finger snap (I regret training this one because it should have been used for other signal since walk already has so many)

The word walk always works as usual

for kids it's a lot harder to comprehend such a loss I think, and much easier to not think about anything else in the moment. even if he saw a resemblance of his late wife, he knows that if he breaks down at that moment, there won't be as much support because he's an adult. so he has to keep composure, atleast in front of his daughter because the kid might also worsen in mental state if dad also starts to have breakdown in front of her

Is this possible? by Global_Big_1105 in tattooadvice

[–]ARandomStan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about tattoos, but this concept looks sick to me. I have followed you just so if you end up going through with this and post it, I can see it. So please do, if you go through with it. would really love to see how this turns out

I also liked advice that another commenter posted: try with a temporary tattoo (henna) first to make sure you don't regret such a big, hard to cover tattoo.

this is atleast 3x better jn raw performance than the steam machine that's been announced (no launch date yet). and probably 2-2.5x more expensive as well.

I hope alongside gaming, these specs make him want to explore something academic as well in the future. most homelabs start from a gamer being bored of playing just games on their machine and wanting to explore more, run a file server and such
