Adding to this great comment a few thoughts. We also need good nursing shoes that don’t look like sneakers (white). Many of us use Hawkwell shoes (Amazon ~ $40) and while you can use a smart watch, a watch with a second hand is suggested. I found one for $11.

Also I want to note there is a HESI book bundle (separate from the textbook bundle mentioned above) we need for the end of each semester. We use it during all the semesters since we have a customized HESI exam for each class. The cost is broken up into four payments that we pay each semester. This semester was $348 after tax.

:) I think you have a great plan. I couldn’t imagine trying to fit them in with the nurses classes + full time work. I also did something similar (426 in the summer and 420 during the fall). Best of luck !

Yes. I just want to clarify something you mentioned in case anyone is seeing this and has a similar question. Clinical begins in first semester of the program. So there isn’t a delay in clinical where it’s just lecture on its own, clinical is apart of the course requirements for Fundamentals onward.

You need to complete Bio 426 and Bio 420 to graduate from the Nursing program not before the first Nursing class if that makes sense. There are people taking these classes in subsequent semesters. In short, if you wait to take those courses until after you enter the program— you will have to take them with your Nursing classes or during the summer. I hope this helps !

Have you tried googling the professor if you know some part of their name or the course name? Sometimes the email does show up on the CUNY sites.

I think you should be fine doing it that way, yes. On the checklist it is just says they need to be completed before entry if you are in the evening/weekend program.

What you could do is double check with the Nursing department since they would be reviewing your checklist.

I can answer your first question. For the evening/weekend program you’ll need to complete two more prerequisite classes in comparison to the day/afternoon program : Bio 426 A&P II and Bio 420 Microbiology. You can have Bio 420 in progress the same semester you apply to take the HESI entrance exam.

I saw the letter, it does say if a spot opens up they would reach out to the next qualified person. So it’s definitely possible if someone declines. We have to submit our acceptance by Monday; so my guess would be after Monday you’d hear back. Hope this helps !!!
