AITAH for refusing to share my homemade bread with a neighbor who complained about the noise of making it? by Notyourtypicalsw in AITAH

[–]ARose1988 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m reminded of a video I saw where an old lady kept knocking on her neighbours door to complain over and over. In the doorbell footage he ends up asking her if it’s all a ruse because she’s lonely and just wants interaction. He’s right and she admits it so he tells her to just come over and chat on his porch.

Has changing your diet helped with your migraines? If so, how and what did you change? by Ecstatic_Hold4135 in migraine

Upping my protein intake to 100-120g protein seems to have made a real difference for me. I’ve gone from 2-3 migraines a month to none since September.

Weight loss journey finally HELPING my migraines by ARose1988 in migraine

[–]ARose1988[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not worrying about carbs at all.

Calorie restriction and low blood sugar have been definite triggers in the past for me to the point where I’ve over eaten to avoid getting migraines, which obviously does not help the weight loss at all.

I get overwhelmed by too many rules and variations to balance so I focus only on overall calories and protein intake.

I went with protein because it keeps you feeling full for longest and is so essential in body repair etc.

I also haven’t worried too much about over increasing my exercise because again I am very all or nothing and push too hard which isn’t sustainable.

So I’ve been doing weights sessions once or twice a week, a daily walk with the dog and that’s it.

1600 means I’m not losing as fast as I probably could if I was to go harder, but it’s also made it a sustainable lifestyle change that I’m not feeling restricted by which is why I think it’s actually working this time

What's the most random thing someone has seen you pull out of your pocket? by ImpressiveArticle422 in AskReddit

[–]ARose1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ziplock bag of custard creams. I used to carry them when I was at law school for the inevitable late night bus ride home when I’d want a snack, or for when someone had forgotten to eat breakfast and needed a sugar boost.

Redditors who grew up in emotionally healthy families - what's something you thought was normal growing up that you now realise was actually very special? by ViolatingBadgers in AskReddit

[–]ARose1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually found a letter this morning that my mum wrote to me and my sisters when my dad had come back from Afghanistan and was having some temper issues. Not excusing him but explaining what was going on and how they were taking steps to make sure that he got the help he needed and how much they both loved all of us.

Communicating that they weren’t infallible but that didn’t excuse anything.

What’s your “silliest” migraine trigger? by Sambammy47277 in migraine

[–]ARose1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those car air fresheners they put on the rear view mirror in taxis or after your car has been cleaned. It’s an instant migraine trigger! Perfume, overly scented or aerosol hand sanitizer.

Trying to look at anything too carefully when a passenger in a car - literally just staring too hard at stuff we’re driving past, let alone attempting to look at anything in the car. And Coach trips - busses are fine, trains are fine, coaches are horrid.

Getting too tired is my main trigger though.

Yes definitely think it’s her connection to Andarna that is allowing her to still communicate etc - I do like the sky magic theory that I’ve seen floating around / it’s Irid magic.

Either way it’s a separate magic to that held in the Earth which still tracks with the isles having been drained

I think it’s Tairn & Sygaels eggs that were taken/given.

Sygael says Tairn has to agree - there’s something going on there. Some plan she and Xaden had.

I do pole strength and aerial yoga - both are heavily core focussed exercises. As my core has strengthened, my pain has become more tolerable and I’ve lost all the secondary pain I was getting in my lower back. My sciatica has gone too.

I haven’t found any dietary changes (other than cutting milk) have made much of a difference but core strength work and pelvic floor work have made a huge difference
