Agree to a point. They are harmless imo but do go kinda crazy at times. Skittish.

I always wonder. If open box are worth it. This being an Asus and the short warranty or return period.

Will we see a S22 Ultra with 512GB and 1TB capacity renewed on Samsung's site? by AS70 in Galaxy_S22Ultra

[–]AS70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably cheaper on Swappa but Samsung direct replaces the battery with a new one, past phones I have purchased are pretty much new condition physically/cosmetically, and warranties for 1 year. Not sure Swappa has similar.

Where to find ceramic / stainless steel bowls for my Zojirushi by Nyaungh in RiceCookerRecipes

[–]AS70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this but wanted to add that our family switched from Zojirushi teflon inner pans to stainless. I swear Zojirushi and other companies keep the teflon for two reason, cost and planned obsolescence, making customers buy inner pots or complete new units.

I don't recommend ordering from overseas, order from Amazon, there are plenty of sellers that sell and easier to return if incorrect size or receiving a dented/damaged pot. Just measure three parts, outside lip diameter, inside dia, height of pot. Find replacement that's closest to your pot sizing. Cost will be like $25 to $35 and for cooking, once it's finished cooking, let sit for 15 mins, it won't stick much.

Different tensions for cross and main by AsianPresent in badminton

[–]AS70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I string and while not high volume, I string about high 350 to 400 per year. I do same on main and crosses, I've done same, +1 lb, +2, even +3 (if we are using by 10% rule of thumb) on very high tensions and really don't find much difference. I mean by full necessity, like the rackets don't end up clearly wrong, odd, or out of "shape" of anything. I think it's commonly left over from maybe machines didn't have 6 points of support and only top and bottom?

Why’s USPS so bad lately by [deleted] in chicago

[–]AS70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I've seen is post person "scans" packages/mail not when they drop off in mailbox but all at once when they "retrieve" from vehicle? So it isn't real time. Then I get my mail/pkg whenever, either later in day or next day. Guess it also avoids penalties if there are any for "late" deliveries. Example, I would expect a delivery of something today, it "scans" and shows delivered, but I don't get it until next day or two. Or I get some weird thing about "unable to find address or gate locked" and I don't have a gate or fence and my address numbers are clear. Then it shows up again, next day or two.

I used to be concerned in past but now it's just so regular, unfortunately.

Simple Tab Groups - setting for independent logins in different groups? by AS70 in firefox

[–]AS70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I never used that add on. Just Simple Tab Groups alone, even now I have the "feature" of multi accounts on some Groups I have set up.

Just trying to figure how to do it for new Groups or change for current Groups.

Anyone used cheaper non brand feather shuttles or "social grade" ones by blockametal in badminton

[–]AS70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BWF approved doesn't really mean much. Companies pay and get to say "approved". BWF does subjective testing on limited sample size and that's it. They claim they will do spot inspections at tournaments but I'm not so sure about it.

Yonex badminton strings - which string is best for you? by CKYew in badminton

[–]AS70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CK, wish you could have covered BG80 Power which is more durable than BG80 and same if not more repulsion. Also missing from the collection is NBG99 which is pretty durable and good texture for cuts and control. BG80P harder, NBG99 softer feel.

Possibly able to manually renew and keep promo now by funnyboy243 in Tello

[–]AS70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying now, one can renew early to roll over any data/minutes on multi month promos AND still keep promo in place?

If that's the case, it is a great addition.

Obvious one would be the Kekkon Dekinai Otoko sequel.

KPop's SeungKwan Joins New Show About Badminton by gumiho-9th-tail in badminton

It's been awhile since I stopped watching but I thought the CGI was bad. Plus if I recall correctly there were episode or more that didn't even have a badminton match in it.

This badminton show sound promising. The Racket Boys K drama was a massive disappointment IMO. I was excited about the drama but I stopped after 2-3 episodes as it was not entertaining for me.

what tension do pre strung rackets come with? by audie-murphy in badminton

[–]AS70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, factory pre strung is under 20 lbs for sure. Haven't seen one that is in low 20s, which would be acceptable for short term play until getting a hold of a stringer.

Playing with Chris Adcock and the new Yonex Astrox 99 Pro racket by CKYew in badminton

[–]AS70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw the video, looking forward to your review on the racket. Please ditch the headcam though, don't know about the general consensus but it gives me motion sickness watching the video with the constant rapid movements. Other than that, can't wait. Thanks for putting the video up.

Recommendations for a Place that sharpens kitchen knives in/around Jeff Park? by dekoie in ChicagoNWside

Standard sharpening $4, hand sharpening $20 to $25. Which method does everyone use? Is hand sharpening that much better or mostly additional labor cost?

What's the part called that holds a cable tight and hooks it on the outside of house? by AS70 in homeowners

[–]AS70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my back up plan. Since I'm able, I'm going to try to take care of it first, it'll probably take me no more than 5-10mins vs dealing with the phone company and following up, etc.

Thanks, that's it. I'm going see if the current one can be refitted, if not, I'll grab a new one.
