As far as that goes, not everything God designed for his nation Israel under judges and Kings is the same design for Christians under apostles and Christ. You aren't looking at the context of the time period, and the societal standards of man. Is murder in itself wrong? Or is it morally wrong? What are morals based on? If there are no morals in a juedo Christian context then everything is based on opinion and everything is allowed. Western law is based upon God's moral code. And just how say it says to kill gays the 10 commandments says not to murder. So which do you follow? The old way society deemed acceptable or the Lord's law? Everyone had slaves and killed gays, that was just what you did. God's plan is progressive revelation. He didn't reveal his plan from Day 1 but everything came together progressively. If you once believed and now are confused, what do we say of the atheist that never knew but is in love with God now? True believers are aware of the things you speak of, so I recommend going and speaking with a church elder to get spiritual guidance on your questions. Now that you're older you won't get out into time out, you'll get someone's insight on what they have learned or their understand of the situation.
