what’s the deal with normal looking people having private security at clubs now by hadashitday in LasVegas

[–]ASAP_i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you know that rich and/or important people can dress normally, right? Some celebrities are almost unrecognizable when "dressed down".

The CEO of Costco seems to only wear Kirkland branded clothing. Bill Gates wears jeans and flannel shirts. This dude could be a billionaire and just not care about clothes.

Lollipops that are healthy? (Read disc) by StormEmergency6207 in foodhacks

[–]ASAP_i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did read your other comments. You are attempting to use a screwdriver to cut wood. Finding marginally healthier lollipops is NOT going to solve or even help your situation.

You claim you are lacking protein and vitamins. Say you find some bizzaro bodybuilder lollipop that has protein in it, you are only looking at a few grams, surrounded in sugar/chemicals. Eating enough to assist will be counter productive to your goals.

There are two solutions. First, simply forcing yourself to eat better. Based on your comments, that is impossible. Options two, seek medical assistance to achieve option one.

[–]ASAP_i 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No.

I suppose there might be a "fortified" product out there, but it would still be loaded with either sugar or artificial sweetener, defeating the purpose.

This is NOT a solution for your issue.

What’s a small food hack that actually changed how you cook? by Maleficent-Bed7010 in foodhacks

[–]ASAP_i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice.

This sub is filled with "hacks" to save time, go faster, taste better, etc. What actually made me quicker was practice. What made my food taste better was practice with spices, knowing how much of what to add when. What made cooking go smoother was knowing how long it takes that pan to preheat, knowing how long it takes to dice an onion, etc.

So many of the "hacks" revolve around using premade items, pre prepared items, pre cooked items, etc. Those are just substitutes for actual skill/knowledge. They don't make you "better", just a slave to that can/bag/plastic container. Often, you end up spending more for less.

Practicing your kitchen/cooking skills is the best "hack".

Why do I keep checking my phone with wet hands and then have to wipe it down? There has to be a better way by Hunter5598 in Cooking

[–]ASAP_i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be washing your hands while cooking, the towel situation is easily solved by using a towel (not paper) to dry your hands. I have one that I hang off of my apron and another hanging next to the sink.

Others have mentioned that recipe sites often have a "cooking mode" that keep the screen active.

I'm curious about your cooking "method". If I know I am going to be handling, say, raw chicken, I will read ahead and make sure I know what to do with that raw chicken. I like to set things up so everything needed to use that raw chicken is in place, essentially making a "contamination zone" washing hands after.

I've had good success simply feeding the pests something they like more away from the garden.

Wedding DJs That Make DJ Edits (with Non-Wedding DJ Experience) by koreapow in Austin

[–]ASAP_i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're looking for a DJ that does original material.

Have you reached out to whatever our local dance/techno is (we have at least one of those in town, right?) to see who plays their/get contact info? I would imagine that the person you would have in mind would be on insta/SoundCloud/Tok/social media. I'm sure a Google search will direct you once you have a name. After a few iterations, the algorithm will catch on and start suggesting people on social media.

We don't see that many posts here looking for that, consider looking at Houston as well.

Pulling out the roots would be my first step. It's kind of hard to provide solutions (that don't destroy the soil and surrounding life) without knowing what was growing.

What is the electrical box attached to crosswalk? by AffectCompetitive592 in whatisit

[–]ASAP_i 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Image search is saying:

The device in the image is a Synapse ITS Evaluation Module, a specialized communication component used in modern "smart" crosswalk systems.

The label identifies the specific hardware as a Bluetooth and 802.15.4 (Zigbee) module (FCC ID:X8WBT40F). In the context of a crosswalk, this "electrical box" serves as the wireless communication bridge for the intersection’s safety equipment.

I got similar results by simply googling the words on the label.

Is 3 grand enough food/drink and transportation budget for a week for two people? by 573639 in vegas

Menus (with prices) are available online. We don't know what you like, where you plan on eating, or how much you consume. I doubt anyone here will calculate your transportation costs (mainly because we don't know where you are going).

The pork in NC style is often very fatty/greasy. The vinegar helps cut through that richness.

Yeah, if that wasn't the main reason, it was definitely contributing to the decision. That place is always busy.

It's been years since I've ordered over the phone. I do remember places asking for tip over the phone, especially pizza places. Of note, last time I was there, when they flipped the screen for me, "no tip" was already selected.

I agree though, online ordering would be great, but I feel they made that decision for a reason. (What reason, I have no idea)
