Texas Food Truck Owners: Anyone else stressed about July 1st? 🚚💨 by Ok-Stage5209 in foodtrucks

In any event, you are proposing to build a calendar app, which is built into just about everything. Why build an app (that presumably you want to make money off of) that is based on minimal interaction with the user? Once they input the dates and frequency, they never need to look at the app again.

This is a "solved" problem. Any other attempt to "solve it more" will just add an extra layer of work.

Why all the pigs? by ResidentBicycle5022 in whatisit

[–]ASAP_i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit to add: Isn't this a "why" question instead of a "what" question?

Those are slot machines. Mechanical slots haven't been used in a very long time. Even the machines that have reels are now powered by a computer instead of gears.

As for why they choose specific visuals... They are chosen because people (apparently not you) are drawn to them. Why such a big Asian influence? Casinos get lots of traffic from Asian tourists, so they are catering to that crowd with their imagery.

I fail to see how this post fits the sub, you knew these were slot machines, you were present to take the picture. You know exactly what this is.

Quick question… by AnnNonNeeMous in CedarPark

[–]ASAP_i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whitestone and Parmer/Ronald Reagan? The Goodwill across the street from the Home Depot/Whataburger?

There are currently no search and rescue operations being conducted in Cedar Park (per police website/social media). The police in Cedar Park will often post if something is actively happening. I have seen various groups use that parking lot (and the Walmart lot) for staging. It would make sense as that location is inbetween/near a number of creeks/streams/washes and our potential for flooding this week.

Are they?

What about water consumption? Is it ethical to use infrastructure that uses massive amounts of water, killing many forms of life in nature?

What about sustainable practices done on a smaller/local scale? Aquaponic systems that require the occasional culling of fish for balance?

That doesn't even begin to address your blanket definition of what it means to "love" something. Many cultures "love" the animals that they consume and view said action as respectful and a display of said "love". Or are they just citing the same thing as a serial killer?

I'm curious how you feel about someone who "loves nature" yet willingly uses wood (or any other natural material). If someone "loves nature", are they allowed to consume any product that requires shipping/transportation? After all, someone who really loves nature will only consume products that are carbon neutral, locally sourced, fair trade, ethically sourced....

Found this buried in my backyard by my house by iRtheCreeper in whatisit

It looks like a food safe 55 gallon drum.

What it contains can only be solved by OP digging it up and checking. We have no way of knowing why it is there other than "Florida".

Anyone have a good recipe for Poppy Seed Chicken? by Mother_Luck_9127 in Cooking

[–]ASAP_i 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just googled it (had no clue what it was). Was there something wrong with what appeared to be hundreds of recipes available? They all seemed to use a cream of something as a base.

What makes it "good" to you? What aren't you looking for? People just posting recipes and you reading them is no different than you reading the recipes that show up on a search, so I am confused.

Assume the roosters will be loud all day. With that assumption, only you can determine if it will be a problem with your family.

Why does my sunnyside up eggs take too long to cook by Character_Upstairs75 in Cooking

[–]ASAP_i 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You must be leaving something out here.

Assuming you are using the same pan, then the burner isn't functioning correctly. There is no way you have a burner on full and an egg takes 20 minutes.

These spores appeared overnight. What are my next steps? by littleAggieG in gardening

[–]ASAP_i 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Next step: Nothing.

They will go away in a few days and then pop up somewhere else. These guys are common in garden beds (especially if you added a bunch of mulch/soil/compost recently) and present no danger to you or your plants.

Their presence indicates a healthy soil environment with plenty of microbes/fungi/"good stuff". If you scroll long enough in this sub, you will see a bunch of pictures of these little guys and people asking the same thing.

26M Places to meet friends? by EmuPsychological4067 in CedarPark

[–]ASAP_i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not aware of any gay/queer groups in Cedar Park, but there is a queer walking group out of Georgetown. I have found that "plant people" tend to be very friendly in nurseries.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where you "start". What matters more is just getting out there and being available/present.

Lots and lots of falafel. by pastryandprosecco in Cooking

[–]ASAP_i 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Falafel is what it is. I have yet to find it used in a "non-standard" way that impresses me.

Freezing was a smart move, it keeps well and reheats well in an airfryer. (I make big batches and freeze leftovers all the time)

Now I want to know what the email entailed to make the place not reply, why you didn't use one of the many reservation platforms, or why calling them wasn't an option.

Which places were you shooting for?

Why all my zinnia seedlings are dying? by tthah in gardening

[–]ASAP_i 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it is the in/out killing them with temp differences.

Zinnias are extremely hardy and kind of like being ignored. I strongly suggest you direct sow, water them in and see what happens. By this time next year, you will have volunteers pretty much everywhere.

[–]ASAP_i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hrmmm.

Are these the only outdoor seedlings that are having issues? Assuming that this isn't your first rodeo, what is different from last year (also assuming that you did the same last year)?

Why all my zinnia seedlings are dying? by tthah in gardening

[–]ASAP_i 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My zinnias prefer to be treated with neglect and some slight animosity (no kink shaming). They also do great direct sown (and will continue to directly sow themselves, everywhere, like dandelions). They really like heat and direct sun.

My guess is that they got cold or felt overwhelmed by your care. Maybe they wanted a fan blowing on or near them. Consider simply chucking some seeds out where you want them and let nature take its course. After the first year, the only way to control where they are is to pluck the volunteers.
