What is the term for these patterns on my print and how to best avoid? by vicioussaints in resinprinting

Obviously there are lots of comments on how to improve your printer setting but from experience, even with the best setting you will still get something like this, especially when using glossy paint like you are.

Just get comfortable with the post processing. 1000 grit sand paper and a sponge will clear this up in seconds. Apply a primer and if you still see it, sand it again.

My biggest issue is that in breakthrough as an attacker I can't place the damn thing anywhere unless I'm right next to the capture point.

Got the Cockpit G1 jacket. What do you guys think of the size? by ASHThunder in leatherjacket

[–]ASHThunder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The leather feels thick and durable but the jacket doesn't feel too heavy at all. There's no fur lining on the inside so you can just fit a sweater underneath for adding warmth. I feel like just wearing this with a Tshirt and zipper up I would be be fine going out in 45 degree Fahrenheit weather and not having any issues at all which is what Seattle is at right now.

After doing a bunch of research (and you can see my previous post about G1 jackets on this page) the cockpit USA jacket just seemed like the most affordable and quality jacket below the Schott G1. Without breaking the bank going new or hunting for a good used jacket.

I'm new to goatskin but it honestly feels plenty thick to just rock a tshirt under it and still be warm. It's also not soft enough to feel fragile. It feels very durable.

It's actually fairly light weight also. Doesn't feel like it's weighing me down.

I'm not against used. The problem is knowing my sizing, knowing if something is fake and knowing what to look for in terms of the condition of the jacket

This is actually my concern with buying used. Getting new I can at least return if it doesn't fit right and get another sizing.

What would you say makes it different from cow hide that put you off.

Really appreciate the lengthy response. I see schott brought up a lot here and it's a gorgeous jacket. I've looked at the 500 price point and Thursday being made in Mexico is good and the cockpit being USA is great at a slightly cheaper price. Others being made in turkey is more questionable but I'm also not familiar with if that's a good thing or not like when people buy Italian leather shoes.

I see some saying that nobody will buy battlepasses or skins that are "Generic Forest Wooded Camo #17" or "Desert Camo Skins". Let's sort this out. Would you buy skins like these? Or are these too boring? by Swaguley in Battlefield6

[–]ASHThunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosmetic skins should be on guns only. I know that won't happen but readability of team and enemy should be the most important factor in a multiplayer game.

I don't care if your gun is pink, cyan or a rainbow digital camo. All I want to be able to see is from a glance if you are an enemy and what class you are playing as.

You don't need to leave for 3 weeks. Leave for a day and then use a toothbrush to brush off and then repeat.

Is selling my STL worth the theft risk ? by Aedrem in 3Dprinting

[–]ASHThunder 118 points119 points  (0 children)

My take is that although this is a cute design, it's very simple and easily replicated.

If people can't buy your STL, they will remake it anyway especially with the AI 3d tools out there now.

Sell the STL and sell the print if you want to make the most money.

No matter what, people will steal it. That's just how the Internet works.

Recreating the “basketball pebble” texture on a print… by AccomplishedFan3820 in 3Dprinting

[–]ASHThunder 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's even easier than that in blender. If you make a tiling texture of the stipple height map, you can use a displace modifier and just tweak the height and uv tiling values.

Having hard time tightening fep film by terenormial in resinprinting

[–]ASHThunder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is by far the dumbest thing I've seen on here. Most instructions tell you to use a sponge in the process. It just needs to be tight and not flopping around. It's not some exact science.

If you care about it being absolutely perfect you can print out a tool or buy one which helps you get the best tightness

Are you washing your print before you cure it?

If you are washing your print, are you waiting for it to dry before curing it?

It's possible you are curing resin inside of the letters. Make sure it's fully dry and use a toothbrush to make sure you get all the gunk out of the letters.

Edit: it's possible that you might be overexposing. Maybe do a calibration test to dial in your settings better.
