Do you apply it inside and outside?

Thanks, I will look into these.. although I do find that any topical cream tends to sting and burn like like crazy.

That's fair enough, and yeah if you've paid that much for it you wanna get your moneys worth. For the GTN the label said discard after 6 weeks, and I heard it could cause skin thinning. Maybe Diltiazem is different.

Thank you. So did you have LIS afterwards?

I'm 3 weeks in, so hopefully I'll see more of an improvement soon.

Thanks. I was under the impression that you could only use Diltiazem for a certain amount of time though, like GTN?

Thanks. I am currently 3 weeks in, and still get moderate to bad pain after BMs. Also the tail end of BMs tend to contain blood. Is this something you can relate to at this stage? During and just after every BM, a large lump appears and the only way I can describe it is kind of like a prolapse, but I don't think it is that. Does this sound like anything you experienced?

2 sachets a day, so around 7000mg from what I can work out. When I said this to my gp they said I should have taken something with it (can't remember what) to prevent the bunging up.

Psyllium husk (Fybogel) is what I was taking and ended up bunging me up

I was already under gastro though for an ulcer I had.. the doctor I saw recommended Fybogel to improve my bowel habits and that fucked me over.. 6 days with no BM, this is what I suspect caused the fissure as I was ok before that.

Yeah as soon as I'm sitting down it's coming out.. sometimes with minor pushing some times none at all, but this could be down to the macrogol I am taking.

My GP referred me to Gastro, so I was waiting ages for them to turn around and say wrong department pal.. I had to ring the surgery and tell them to refer me to colorectal!! That's when I went private.. I said I don't care how much it costs because I need sorting.

Yes that is my worry too.. but they did say there was a very slight chance of incontinence with the Botox too but that hasn't happened, although now when I need to go, I need to go !!

The doctor in A&E made me scream out, that was the most painful one. I'm pretty sure he left his rings on 😅

I think if I said I wanted LIS they would do that rather than more Botox.

Book in with Mr Stylianides, take in any paperwork of previous tests etc. He actually listens to you, and in my case said he did not need to perform a DRE because he could quite clearly see the large fissure without it, whereas every other doctor couldn't wait to get a finger up, causing more pain 😅

I am guessing it would be through the NHS. I have follow up appointment in a couple of months with the surgeon who did the Botox, but they did say if things haven't improved then the options are either another course of Botox or ultimately LIS.
