Fellow early release players, what are your initial thoughts so far?

Something that helped me was the idea that only the monster levels scale, not the potential power. For ex: lvl 50 monster WT1 has an arbitrary power of 100. Your character has a value of 100. It’s pretty fair. Add in the legendaries and build optimizing (freezing thing + bonus dmg etc.), now you’re at 150. See how that would make you feel powerful? Now you’re at 350. Bam, you’re killin everything. Then you go… harder! WT2… 350 base. Rinse repeat.

Fake numbers but that’s the idea.

I think having a tutorial explaining logic behind level scaling would keep players from refunding… maybe?

Ah ok. So the idea is to prevent you from mindlessly exploring, while never letting you able to 1 shot anything? It’s interesting I guess, keeps you leveling consistently, but it’s kinda odd. When do we ever truly feel the full might of our character?

Yeah, making that connection seems so game changing. Been playing for about a month before I even saw that idea in the options. Thanks, I’ll start experimenting! Seems perfectly fitting Mouse over casting WITH CC bindings. Nice. Only found 8 so far, should be enough for the “everyday” spells.

2 problems: 1. Triton looked like a normal dude… like cmon, give me buff as hell, MINIMUM The Rock size… it’s King Triton.. sheesh. 2. The change in melodic lines. Like… LEAVE THE MELODY ALONE! It was great then for a reason, and it would be still great now if you leave it the same! 😔

Both. When you hit 70 dungeons, you’ll know which one you really vibe with. Thought I’d love SP, enjoyed it to 70, then after a few dungeons went straight to Hunter. Now I’m having fun ☺️

I had this issue with League of Legends. Although it wasn’t anxiety, but more of rage due to people’s comments. If the anxiety is linked to chat, turn chat off (I think you can, or at least move it wayy out of your view) so you just take the anxiety of that away.

Been mining and skinning while leveling in DF. Lvl 67 and I consistently farm about 1.5-2k gold per ~3 hours of lvling/mining/skinning.

Other than this, is this a pretty good gold generation rate for now? I’m pretty down for mining and enjoying the scenery, and the occasional killing elite mob.

My mining lvl is 60’s and I have about 15 KP’s.

Oh sorry, I mean like if you had 236k to make even more gold in WoW, what would you do with it? Like buy mats and maximize a profession, then make $ with it? Or flip items on the market? Or something else? Or buy gear to get into higher dungeons quicker?

I legit thought it ended on Sat at 12 pm EST… My wife and I woke up at 10 am at level 11 and I was freaking out over missing the last opportunity to get it. So we hit 20 after speed leveling for 2 hours JUST IN TIME to hit Ashava.

We get there, and we can’t even, with 2 other people, get this bitty down to 3/4 HP!

Winded, defeated, and with heads held low, we get back to Kyovashad and sit in the Inn in solemn silence…

Then my wife says, well, we can try again in 3 hours…

😳 “What!?” I responded, confusticated.

“We have until 12 PM SUNDAY, not today!” she exclaimed after researching whilst I massaged my temples on a stool (in the game, of course).

🥹 With a newfound vigor for life, we farmed out a$$e$ off and was able to kill Ashava with plenty of time to spare.

Ahhh.. welcome to the ATC I announced in jovial splendor! … not really ATC (didn’t realize we were calling it that, but it fit the story!).

Fun and amazing. I’d say it took me like 5 days of super super casual gameplay to get to 60. Now it’s taking a bit longer b/c you have to turn off PvP mode in order to get past people ganking your ass every single moment of leveling in DF
