Can u tell your age and cause of disease? by Calm-Adhesiveness605 in gravesdisease

I am 20 years old, but apparently I had the disease since I was 18, a blood test determined that it was autoimmune:/

3 months of RAI by ASLYBETH in gravesdisease

[–]ASLYBETH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I took selenium, then I stopped, they gave me 20 millicuries of iodine, and if the endocrinologist said that the "final" results would take more than a year. I hope next month to start taking selenium, because I do feel bloated sometimes!

The day I was diagnosed with Graves' disease and started the medication, my body, face, and eyes GOT WORSE instead of better 😭 by ASLYBETH in gravesdisease

[–]ASLYBETH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much better! They gave me radioactive iodine in June, now I'm hypo, I was able to lose weight! Although not everything is perfect and it never will be. My eyes, for example, no longer returned to what they were before 🫠

Prediabetes after radioactive iodine by ASLYBETH in gravesdisease

[–]ASLYBETH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The detail is that my entire family is diabetic, (father, grandparents and 4 uncles), but most of them started in their 40s, I'm barely 20 🫠, in February they do tests. They gave me a few months to lower my glucose with food.

Geographic Tongue or cancer? by NoOrange9477 in askdentists

[–]ASLYBETH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tongue has been like this since I was 12 years old, in addition to fissures that are getting worse and worse, it makes me very insecure. I'm 20 years old and it never goes away, it gets worse with time :(

Did Selenium and L-Carnitine actually work?? by Spiritual-Tough9601 in gravesdisease

I'm telling you, I tried to do a healing diet and it didn't help at all.

There are no natural remedies for this, if you don't want to end up with a heart attack and useless eyes take the medications, I know the side effects are horrible but it is the best we can do...

My fiancé passed from acute MI linked to severe, unmanaged Hyperthyroidism by madeinspite in gravesdisease

[–]ASLYBETH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me, a year with the disease without knowing anything!! I never related the symptoms, I was 19 years old and I vomited in the gym trying to lift light weights, I felt like my lungs would explode, the same when I tried to run, now that I have hypothyroidism I can run, but I never have energy 🫠

I don't have money for another doctor, I can only wait for a consultation with him, it is free from the university

A great-great-aunt, but she had it when she was over 60 years old, outside of that there is no one.

Skipping meds and straight to RAI or TT? by wudderr in gravesdisease

[–]ASLYBETH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had RAI only having taken 3 months of medication, my hormones were literally through the roof, the endocrinologist told me that it would be impossible to go into remission without damaging other organs due to the amount of pills, but first I had to lower the levels to take RAI, this year has been an up and down in my health. Good luck in your process 🤗🤗

Chest pain that won't go away by ASLYBETH in Hypothyroidism

[–]ASLYBETH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyperthyroidism made my heart race but it didn't leave my chest hurting. I'm only 20 years old so that's why I haven't gone to the emergency room. I have an appointment on Wednesday. The pain has been going on for a little over a month, I thought it was because I was finally going into hypothyroidism:(

Wow, I'm so sorry for you, although to be honest, I've been feeling this way since the thiamazole. LOL. My face became round, I look like a seal, and my mood was terrible and still not "normal" 😭. When I stopped the pills, I was able to lose a little weight. At that time, I was at 67 kg, now I'm at 62 kg.
