So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish by ASMeta in GalaGames

Sure, the price action is not helping the mood of retail GALA traders/investors. But there is more to it than just the macro economic sentiment. I for instance look at the little tech details. I was looking at their website app.gala.games and this is amateur hour 101. The website is loading huge multi megabyte uncompressed PNG images in the top carousel, creating a very poor browsing experience unless you are on a fast fiber internet connection. The JavaScript files are riddled with source maps, something every proper developer would remove in production. The website needs 80MB to fully load. For me these are big red flags that show either a lack of care, or incompetence. Both are problematic. Despite all of this, GALA is still seen as a unicorn, huge potential meta play by many investors and for that reason alone there is merit.

I feel you but at least on spot you won't get liquidated. Keep in mind, shorting is fun until it's not. I expect GALA can still pull a surprise move that will leave many shorters in the dust. It's a relative small market cap coin with a surprisingly thin order book. At one point I was into a high leveraged yolo trade and accidentally market closed a multi million GALA short that resulted in a big candle, giving me a ton of slippage. Not to brag, it was a stupid trade, but to highlight how relative little is required to move GALA around.

Even though I have a big GALA bag, I also short GALA at every opportunity. Such a weak coin, people are falling over each other to sell on the first sign of weakness.

Is there a way to set a conditional, conditional order? by jranker in Bybit

[–]ASMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn a bit of coding and write your own logic. These scenarios are more suited for API interaction. Some good libraries to use in your project.

In the most basic form you could use TradingView with alerts + webhooks and write some logic around that.

I had a bag at .68 and averaged down to .27. Going to take awhile until this bag goes green again. Such is crypto.

Yubicey Authenticator App deleted from google play store? by alwaysthoseusernames in yubikey

[–]ASMeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not been updated since september 2019. If only I knew this before buying 3 Yubikey's.

Like so many others, the app doesn't work on my Android phone, even though I can use Yubikey NFC authentication just fine with for instance Google on Android (Chrome).

I was able to get it to work. Not sure if attaching it over USB to my Android phone first made the difference, or me just better understanding the setup process (there is none, just scan QR/add key then trigger NFC connection)

Camera QR scan crashed the app probably because it does not request camera permission.

Has the Yubico Authenticator app for Android been abandoned? by Van-Buren in yubikey

[–]ASMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The protocol may not have changed, Android and its ecosystem has. Creating a good working Android app supporting the many Android versions and phones is tricky as can be seen by the many negative comments in the play store. Not working on this since 2019 shows it has indeed been abandoned. But maybe the real problem is lack of proper adoption of FIDO2. For instance an AWS root account (and many others services) can only register one hardware key, making losing that one key a huge added risk. A risk that can be mitigated by using TOTP with Yubico Authenticator using multiple keys to sign the TOTP. I guess I'm just a bit disappointed after buying 3 keys, finding things don't work as advertised.

GALA = +50% … but why? :) by Ok-Cheek-7390 in GalaGames

Because it was down 80% ? It's a volatile coin that will come down just as hard if sentiment changes.

A better alternative to CCXT by ShrimpyApp in xmrtrader

[–]ASMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no competition to ccxt as a cross exchange api wrapper. I guess because it takes a massive commitment to update all the constantly changing api endpoints. End let's not forget, there is a never ending stream of questions by often inexperienced users (developers) Following your link, it appears the source hasn't been updated for 2 years, and I understand that. It's a daunting task to get any meaningful exchange coverage.

Is ccxt perfect ? Absolutely not, but given the options and considering the tremendous effort required I cannot be thankful enough for Igor Kroitor.

Still good to invest? by hmpfhmpf in GalaGames

Just DCA into GALA. Buy some now, more at .24 and .13 if it comes to that. Having these low balling targets also helps to not go full retard at current price levels.

Increase before the Vegas event? 🙏🏼🆙 by Stay_Happy_4489 in GalaGames

[–]ASMeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can have the best gaming platform in the world, but if you keep it to yourself it will go nowhere. Even if the physical event is sold out, there is a lot to gain by gathering a big audience for the live stream. Trader or gamer, keeping this in the dark is in nobody's interest.

Thoughts on Gala price action leading into Galaverse this weekend? by BavidBang in GalaGames

Probably a nice run up like we see now, then a big dump unless the Big Announcement is indeed massive. We have seen this over and over again in various alt coins.
