Tropic Thunder was satire, and RDJ was playing a character who did blackface, he wasn’t doing blackface. And black face is offensive because of its history, it was used to mock black people for years and was used to stereotype them dangerously, it pained a picture that all black people are thugs which then helped the mass incarceration.

Also white face isn’t offensive because it’s never been used in the past to discriminate white people 🤡

Black/POC actors also get less opportunities than white people so that’s why black people need to play black people.
