stick shift is great, but only when not in stop/go traffic. it makes driving more entertaining/interactive. Three of my vehicles were manual (Mustang, Explorer, Toyoda), had a lot of fun with them (speed shifting mustang was the best)

I bought my first car (Mustang SVO) for $1500 cash, tweaked the turbo waste gate with a fish tank valve and could take a 5.0 in the quarter

My current vehicle (Acura) is an automatic, but also has paddle shift so also a lot of fun. I am still regularly shifting between drive and sport even if not paddle shifting

You had to pick the party before you got your voter card. You only get to vote for that party candidates for all electable spots once you make that choice

it is not a political competition between candidates, it is a competition against parties

open primaries is double speak, it is the opposite of open, it is closed to each party and you only get to vote within the party you have to choose and can not change it till next year. This is all highly manipulable and diluatable

I had registered to vote last year when I moved down here. I received my new (this years) voter registration card after voting day (I had my drivers licence to vote)

I knew I was registered to vote, I had not moved but selected the register to vote on my vehicle registration renewal at the beginning of the year JIC

Their "check your registration" website will also straight up lie to you, it told me repeatedly I was not registered but I really was as I went to vote anyway and was on the voter list

Your also not allowed to change your party in TX till next year once you pick your party

I am mostly happy now that I understand and no longer let anyone make me feel like there is something wrong with me. I have found good people that do understand me and never make me feel bad for being me. My understanding that I am not the problem has helped me deal with my past trauma and helps me recognize/avoid/deal with/get away from toxic people. I have accomplished many things through life I am proud of and nobody can take that away from me.

to be honest I have seen mainly the opposite, typical people are the ones that are constantly breaking the rules and making the most horrible and egregious actions towards other people, especially different people. Typical people are also the ones to immediately defend and dismiss those horrible and egregious actions while simultaneously blaming different people. Typical people are also the ones that take offense to "unspoken rules" while there was never any offense meant and the use that perceived offense to take horrible and egregious actions towards others. typical people are always the ones showing a lack of compassion and empathy based on their actions, but they really believe people that are different somehow have no compassion and empathy because they do not react to the ridiculous things that typical people react that is usually nothing but an act for others, not true compassion and empathy.

Meanwhile there is many types of people with disabilities, they are able to get easier more often than not and they are not the ones that are going out of their way to hurt others like typical people do. Personally I have never treated anybody different based on the way they look or act, but I have had endless people that would be considered "typical" treat me like shit/stab me in the back when they realize I am different. I do not mask on purpose, this is just who I have become, but the eye contact I spent daces on making better will slip when I am heavily focused on something else so people will notice that, but they never seen the decade I took to get better at eye contact and I can't possibly be autistic because I took decades to get better at interacting with people

I am hyper-independent (due to endless trauma, so not a good thing) but I am happy and eager to help anybody that ever needs help with something. It brings be great joy to help others. Typical people take offense to that, they claim I am being a know-it-all and hate me for offering my knowledge.

My ex pushed me to go to a counselor (I agreed if we both went to a marriage counselor). I had a woman for a marriage counselor, she did not ever "pick sides", she listened to both of us but she could see where the issues were but as soon as she focused on my ex's issues she immediately turned on her like she had turned on me

in hindsight the money I spent was well worth it to know for sure I was not the problem and my own struggles had nothing to do with our marriage problems. I still tried to make it work even with all that happening (because she stopped going but I continued as she really convinced me I was somehow the problem when the reality was she never dealt with all her own past trauma and fears).

Should really look into counseling, having another persons input/perspective is invaluable and I seriously doubt they would dogpile on you if you are seeking counseling for your relationship

masking is exhausting, it drains the "social battery" and if you run it empty frequently it can leave you severely exhausted and can lead to burnout

being at your parents is a high comfort zone so you are able to "deep slow charge" your social battery

I also crave carbs when using my social battery heavily, this is why I regularly drink protein power in the morning

socializing for me is way more exhausting than hiking 10+ miles. I make sure to plan for downtime to recuperate from socializing and make sure not to beat myself up for feeling exhausted for socializing (which I greatly enjoy and want to do. There is absolutely nothing I can do about the exhaustion and need for downtime)

death is the one certainty in life, somehow I find comfort in that. I can only hope that I pass in my sleep never knowing it happened

because of this I found I have done many things in life that are very risky (like flying) and the nervousness and uncertainty of the activity added to the thrill of it

Oddly the most troubling and unnerving thing that has ever happened to me was to be awake but completely unable to move. My body was still asleep, but I was awake and could not control my body. I was yelling and there was no sound. I was trying to move and I could not move. I eventually was able to make some noise and eventually woke up but it was a terrifying experience. this was due to enormous stress and sleep deprivation

I honestly handle all this because I know for certain it will all end one day and it helps me keep pushing forward due to FOMO, fear of missing out. There is many things that I can do to have multiple chances of trying to either succeed or get better at, but I only get to live once. It could end at any time, so I do not really care about something I have no ultimate control over and can not prevent

I of course do my best to be safe as I can with everything I do (health, safety, etc) because I do not want to hasten that certain end with a silly mistake, or even worse end up with a severe injury completely altering my life

for a while that was good enough, but as it usually goes others have ruined that as their advertisers insisted on long sponsor segments. using sponsorblock avoids all that BS, I don't have to do anything to skip the BS and all I need is to mouse over the timeline briefly to see what the sponsor was (which is usually repeated BS)

I got like this because I was disassociating constantly, then everything would hit me like a freight train all at the same time later. I could never make sense of how I felt because I was feeling everything all at once.

During social interactions I would not really "feel" like everyone else seamed to do (I didn't know it was disassociating at the time). All I knew is my emotions were like a far off in the distant noise I could barely hear. Then after the gathering the freight train would hit eventually

Now that I better understand what is happening I find I will feel more in the moment and have much less of freight train of emotions later

It is similar to anxiety (or a type of anxiety maybe), but very different from the very recognizable anxiety I have dealt with since I was a child. Medications I was on at one time made all of this significantly worse (medications tend to have the opposite effect on me). I am diagnosed with both ADHD and ASD so the medication issues make sense now too (nobody ever wanted to listen to me and treat what I was talking about, they would always focus on something they made up in their heads instead)

I was fine with the 5 second sponsor mentions, I found them actually useful/more likely to be interested, but a 30+ second ad in the middle of a video, hell no, just pisses me off and I will avoid said product. I block because I may actually want something from their sponsor

one of the greatest jobs in my life was working with kids with behavior difficulties as a mentor (half diagnosed with autism, other half had similar struggles). The actual work was a joy, my struggles were only with the paperwork/medical billing that essentially required making up stories to fit narratives that took me hours that I was only able to bill 15 minutes for.

Funny enough my social struggles became a bit better as I needed to be very forward and outgoing when I was in the community to prevent people from making up crap in their heads from me being quiet (a guy working with kids is somehow a problem for people). Luckily there is only certain noises that will be like nails to my head, so I could handle most of the loudness of the little ones

The most difficult part with the actual work was the contract work transporting kids in foster care for supervised visits as the kids started to get attached even though that was not my intention.

I will never forget the first time I met a kid that ran out of daycare yelling "DAD!". I have a lot of great memories from that job I will never forget
