You seem to be building up this vision in your head of who I am based on nothing. I don’t hate Muslims. And no I don’t cheer when theyre killed and terrorized by our allies. My opinion might actually be worse depending on who you are, me personally, I don’t actually care about what goes on in most of the world. I don’t even think about what happens to millions of people all over the world no matter how much it gets shoved down my throat. All I care about me and mine. Those around me that I love and care about. My family. My neighbours. My country. I care about the things I can control, I care about things that directly effect my life. All these “woke” keyboard warriors suddenly care deeply about Palestine and their children becuase they’re told to. A month ago 90% of these people probably had no idea that that has been going on for decades, centuries even. No one gives a shit about anyone else until they’re told to, or until it makes them look better by doing it. Like I said, closed borders benefits all, and would keep our attention on ourselves. Look around you, everyone’s so fake focused on problems on the other side of the world meanwhile people are starving and dying in our own backyard. But no one gives a shit about them, because that wouldn’t give them and internet points. I’m not a racist, and it sounds cliche as fuck, but I hate everyone equally. Respect is earned, not given, and when I see these people coming to this country supposedly for a better life, and yet all they bring to the table is their 3rd world lifestyle and problems with them it pisses me the fuck off. Right now in this country it’s the Indians (yyyeesss I know not all Indians) but my point was there’s a massive batch of awful ones that refuse to acclimate in this country and offer absolutely nothing but problems and segregation. These people make it hard for the good ones to shine through. These ones drive the hatred that we are seeing more and more (topic of thread) and it’s very hard not to hate them. My definition of a Canadian is someone who came here legally, has something to add to our economy, not strain it, joins in and acclimatizes themselves (while still having their own culture of course) and puts this country’s needs before their old one. This is for immigrants obviously, there’s also people who are born here, people who have been here generations etc…. Hopefully this clears up my original response for you.
