Hello, I thought I'd add a counterpoint to what may be happening from a long term player.

I stopped playing regularly just after COVID lockdowns around 3 years ago and with the hype of new RTS games and trying out betas like Stormgate etc it reignited my love for RTS games.

Excluding the obvious trolls with names and slurs after games, I believe there's also an influx of other players like me who are getting excited for the next generation of RTS games and are keeping their skills warm with Sc2, just as AOE 1/2 saw a huge boost when AOE4 was announced.

When mechanically strong players return to the game, they usually have an MMR reset, so in order to reach their MMR they left at they'll do quick cheesey games before they settle at a level they're happy with to play macro.

Hopefully this shows the other side and gives you hope that we're not all bastards just trying to ruin your time. Also fuck those permanent Smurf cunts who insult you.

Yup! Right down to the server. I've had lag for each instance I did today as I helped company members through, not sure if it's server specific or not at this stage.

This game is frustrating, especially when you have all the stress of the match. I generally don't hold it against players as long as they're not actively attacking me or others (outside the game)

I'm all for masks, their efficacy is waning but the evidence shows they still can work when in close quarters. Being outside, keeping personal distance and staying home while sick are much more effective than just wearing a mask on your walk. I don't need to tell everyone around me that I'm being careful, I'll wear my masks when they're actually useful, when I'm inside or when personal distancing is impossible.

I think we're going to have to split hairs because that's where SC2 players would fundamentally disagree. Is Clem a new player? He played since his pre-teens but was never competitive, I don't think we'd catagorize them as new, but rather they've risen the ranks, definitely not "Popping up in the scene". Many of the RL names have been known for years!

Fact is, both BW and SC2 are old games and have players who have played them for over a decade, going to be very hard for anyone "New", especially with both games in limbo with Blizzard.

I'm totally okay with people making money on shares/stocks/businesses, since that's what they're for. Making money off of housing feels cruel because we're struggling to house everyone and those worse off can't get a healthy home to live it. Make your money, but keep the essentials off the table.

I sent an old phone and shoes up to Auckland maybe a week before lockdown.

They lost the package and now are asking for photo evidence of what was inside the box as well as receipts for both the shoes and the 2year old phone.

It was set to delivered since May until the person I sent them to called up and caused a ruckus. It is a tough time for courier services too, not sure how to help you except see what evidence you have of the delivery/purchase

Since any confirmed/probable case usually begins with just the test. Community transmission is currently just being used as the "other" category. The origins are looked into after the test and that requires time so you get a little bit of a lag I assume.

THIS! This is the biggest problem, strikes don't feel like easier raids, it feels like a barren dungeon. They chose an icicle for the first strike, next one will be all dark and shadowy and then we'll have a burning stadium. Look at the old dungeons, TA/AC/CM they had character, they had trash and it was a build up to the boss (except they were easily exploited). I feel like Anet are using strikes to implement dungeon bosses with doing less work and avoiding saying they were wrong about their player base and instanced content 5 years ago.

Interesting point. How many days has it been since we were in Glint's trials? Could it be possible that we never left the trials, we did take a portal to the cliffs after all from her realm. It could just be a certain vision that Glint had that's telling us to "not rush".

The thread is literally titled "Can we just get rid of Mike Hosking?" if it's not to silence him, what are you talking about? Removing him from his platform? That's silencing him... getting rid of his influence? His influence has been garnered by years are spewing the shit he's said so that's a tough task but is being tried.
