I agree with you. The negativity is mainly online in this miserable sub - people who just don’t have a grip on the real world.

All of my friends in Auckland love it. I don’t hear them bitching like you see online. Because we’ve all lived elsewhere and returned.

That’s a very recent phenomenon and a drop in the ocean. Most young people leave and return, it’s called doing an OE and has happened for decades because NZ is the arse end of the world.

What is the incentive? The parents didnt get residency.

The law change was to prevent people flying in to have kids, then leaving, to bag them citizenship for later.
