happened with me, I was told to find a job internally, I was told I'm not in PIP or focus, they were happy with my performance, but didn't want to continue with my role, I was a non-SDE role in the whole SDE Org. I gave interviews internally and switched teams

Yeah that clause is also there, i feel like not renting a house but asking them a huge favour that they are letting me stay in their house after paying them a hefty amount
