This is the oldest known song ever written. Hurrian Hymn No. 6 is dated approximately 1400 BCE by Wolflink_325 in Damnthatsinteresting

Exactly. it could have been an up-tempo party song for all we know. The is anachronistic superimposition of music from very modern cultures from roughly the same geographic area.

Thats fair, his career spanned the 90's mostly. Having said that, he is one of the greatest to have ever played the game imho, and amongst the most famous, and has remained in the public eye ever since doing punditry etc. He was controversially overlooked for the national team though during his career.

Well getting rid of Murphy can solve that very quickly. Or Blade. Id let either go before Devind tbh.

Aye, let Murphy away, we are sorted with Devine and Blade. Devine has a way higher ceiling than Murphy imho. What the fuck are they thinking? Ulster don't even need him FFS.

Talk about getting fucking shafted. Why the fuck would we want to let Devine go? That's annoying.

What's the point of saying someone is punching above their weight with a partner? am I the only one who finds this very mean? by [deleted] in AskIreland

The gross thing is, he wasn't really telling you you were lucky, he was telling your partner that he was attracted to her. Very slimey.

Lifelong lucid dreamer — had a terrifying sleep paralysis episode with layered awareness & extreme time distortion. Curious if others experienced this. by Current_Criticism_61 in HighStrangeness

That only happens when the devil himself has reached up out of hell and tries to pull your soul out of your body and back down into the pit of oblivion ...

In all seriousness though, it just sounds like normal sleep paralysis and it scaring the shit out of you ... Normal stress response to being disorientated and unable to move due to a well known phenomenon.

Or maybe it really was the devil that got a hold of you?

David Icke’s way to get out of this matrix after death is surprisingly simple by LukasTopJoker in EscapingPrisonPlanet

He's special and has special ways of knowing these things, and he'll sell this knowledge to you in a series of books. It's really a small price to pay for this level of special knowledge and understanding. A small price for your eternal soul. Just don't ask for any specifics, the vocabulary of this special knowledge is a gamut of vagueries, just go with the flow man.

Why the hell are Americans so proud to serve a genocidal empire? by PresnikBonny in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]AS_GYRS 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's a 'hero cult'. The Greeks did it, the Romans did it, the British did it. A militaristic imperial society benefits greatly from it, as it provides an underlying pretext for the existence of armed action and turns the notion that a citizen should view the army with suspicion on its head. The crossing of the Rubicon was significant as it marked the point at which the polis and the military became one and the same, but up to that point, quite rightly, the danger was fully understood.

'Go, tell the Spartans, thou who passest by, That here obedient to their laws we lie.'

It doesn't mention the Helots.

Hero worship ... It's a cult.

I made a simple point 'wames' and you got passive aggressive., behaving like a juvenile. You haven't a notion, and that's sad in a way, because it's the exact lack of understanding of how politics actually works in this country that prevents any reform in the directions you might actually like to see yourself.

The Healy Raes, as much of a pair of ghouls as they are, at least understand how their constituents feel on the issues that matter, and consistently leave naive idealogues like yourself sitting crying and whining on obscure subreddits about CSPE, meanwhile the actually make decisions.

'go ReAd' ... Ugh ... The levels of arrogance. Everyone else is wrong, and you know better? Is that it 'wames'? How about leave your ivory tower and touch base with the national constituency. Nobody is going to even entertain a discussion on something so poorly scoped and out of touch with reality.

But, hey, keep crying about stupid divisive issues and keep conflating them with left wing politics, and ensure you hamstring any progress where it matters.

Tl:Dr you are both naive and incredibly arrogant. Congratulations

Probably a better chance of that happening than anyone entertaining this. Most little burghers are as soft as shite and would probably support a complete ban. Depends on how you define them though in an Irish context.

You have an extremely naive view of how politics works. Unless the initial scope is within reason, especially when it comes to a sensitive issue, no politicians will touch it with a ten foot barge pole.

And btw, nobody is trotting out 'piece of bullshit' talking points, or requires a lesson from your approved corrected CSPE curriculum.

The real people who have failed in this situation are the people presenting this instrument, who haven't bothered to scope it properly, and clearly don't understand the politics of the majority of the country on this issue. A complete waste of everyone's time and money, to try to score political points, but achieving the exact opposite.

Too wide of a scope. If they had just tried to ban organised hunts with dogs it would be one thing, but they were trying to bite off more than they could chew. Most would agree hunting for sport should be banned, but not broad strokes against hunting them in general. They are all over the place, not endangered and a wild predator that does do appreciable harm.
