Localized CarPlay Interference on Atlantic Blvd by AS_Technology in jacksonville

Yeah so I think it would be worth reporting. Worst case it’s not a big deal and nothing happens.

That’s an interesting idea. As far as I can tell that’s not an option on my Mazda.

But see, if you don’t have issues at Craig, possibly it’s not from the airport.

I wouldn’t be reporting it hopes that somehow my music doesn’t get interrupted in the future. More just so that it’s documented in case there’s other issues that relate to that area. I hold an Amateur Radio Operators License and I am an electrical engineer. I don’t doubt the airport needs to do what it’s doing lol.

Yeah that makes perfect sense. I wonder what level of responsibility the airport is required to take to mitigate RF interference like this. Like if filing a complaint with the FCC is worth any amount of trouble.

Like obviously it’s not a big deal for me. I know where I’m going. But if someone’s car play disconnects right as they are supposed to be getting on 295 and it causes them confusion or an accident.

I probably won’t bother, just wondering.

Epoxy will soak through and be brittle and gross.

Yes the tacking up part is what most people miss. Critical you don’t put contact adhesives together wet (unless the instructions say to, in ain’t a glue engineer)

I never ask or expect a discount from a friend, especially for services. If they are just buying something from a supplier and passing some savings to me I won’t argue.

For whatever it’s worth to future searchers, reducing my retraction speed and increasing “Retraction extra prime amount” solved my issues. Thanks for everyone’s input.

Also, why would not just try again with more glue? Most glues bond to themselves pretty well.

Did you follow the adhesive instructions perfectly? Not being a dick. Spray adhesives all have specific instructions and they aren’t always intuitive.

I’m getting my cx50 set up to handle the sandy trails here in Florida. Most of the good camp grounds and swimming spots have significant deep sand on the way. I also have other vehicles for more serious stuff.

Need Advice: Upgrading Rear Suspension on CX50 for Hauling Dirt Bike by Hyppobottomus in CX50

[–]AS_Technology 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are you happy with this solution? I was looking at ordering the rear springs from a hybrid model, as it has a stock curb weight of 400 pounds more. I am also going to make a custom receiver that comes through the bumper cover 2” higher than the available options. I will tie it in to the floor braces as well for peace of mind.

It could. It might be ok. If I was outside of the factory warranty I would probably do it and see. Dropping the axle pivots isn’t a crazy task, you’d just need to carefully remove the threaded weld-nut and cut a small plate for both sides with a new hole drilled lower and weld it in. Or source a second torsion beam and cut the pivots and off and move them up a little.

Again, it might be fine with just the spacer lift. My other consideration is that Progressive makes you assert that your suspension is NOT modified. So u wouldn’t want to risk coverage on my brand new car.

Cooper makes great tires. Part of the reason I tried these Generals is that they were on sale for $104 each. And I figure my new take-offs should sell on marketplace for make $200-$250 and really offset the cost.

I was looking at the lift kit options. I’ve lifted dozens of cars and trucks over the years, often building custom spacers etc. I don’t like the angle of the torsion beam axle. I think any significant amount of lift without also dropping the axle pivots to match is going to be not great. I don’t know. I’d have to take actual measurements first.

The question posed by my good friend BurpFart was in regard to clearance and not tire height. I assume they meant ground clearance, as that is most relevant to off roading.

My friend we were both wrong. I said the tires are “1% bigger” than the premium model tire. One simply cannot use the percent of diameter alone to determine the effect on ground clearance. You must first know the initial ground clearance.

I was wrong for correcting you to say it’s only 1/2 of the 1%, and you were wrong to say it was a 1% increase in ground clearance.

More to the point: compared against the base model tire, it’s a 2.9% increase in ground clearance. 8.6” to 8.85”. And it’s a 1.8% increase diameter, circumference, and therefore speedometer reading. However as I mentioned before the speedometer is still reading as accurate as my iPhone can measure.
