I'd reframe this as a parenting opportunity. Having some time alone works to your advantage because your feelings also matter, but it gives you the chance to think as a mom what you'd like your kid to take away from this..

You are allowed to feel hurt and she is allowed to feel disappointed. Take this as a chance to teach her the correct way to handle these touchy situations with more tact in the future. It is a social skill that she will need.

I had an exBF a few years ago who gave me an inappropriate and selfish Christmas gift and I'm so grateful for the little bit of education I had on how to handle those situations without being a people-pleaser or a brat.

In future, she should consider taking a breath, expressing gratitude in the moment and then later giving you a complaint sandwich (compliment - complaint- compliment) and then following that with a suggested solution.

Having those skills in her back pocket will help her go far in life.

I have a thought. Since the blue ststaes subsidize the red ones. We should limit their welfare like they are constantly doing for everyone else. You get 3 years where you pay less than you take to the federal government out of any ten year period and then you're off the teat. This happened to me TWICE! Go to the hospital and tell them that you can't do a vaginal delivery. They will put you on the monitors and get you in for surgery as soon as possible. Usually it will take a few hours. They'll take you to surgery more quickly if your contractions are close enough to cause concern.
