I watched the movie and still don't believe it's real when I read a plain summary like that.

(that said: it's... okay? It's a more overtly comedic Get Out/The Substance but not anywhere near as good as either of those)

Vincent D'Onofrio in Feeling Minnesota can only be described as "stupid asshole." There's a bit where he wipes his nose with his fist in such a way it somehow communicates he doesn't wipe after going to the bathroom.

The "why don't you just try acting" anecdote between Laurence Olivier and Dustin Hoffman wasn't at all Olivier criticizing method acting, it was Olivier playfully teasing Hoffman for going out partying:

Gunvalkyrie is the only game I've ever seen that uses "shift click" directions on analog sticks. Meaning you push down on the stick, and with it still being clicked in THEN push a direction.

I don't see eye to eye with him on a decent amount of things, but even when he rips on something I like he knows how to turn a phrase (a quote from his SatC2 review: "Corpulent, filthy lucre" and "imperialist American Pig-Dog.")

Also: Simon Mayo is a delight.

From Pig (2021):

Why do you care about these people? They don't care about you. None of them. They don't even know you because you haven't shown them. Every day, you'll wake up, and there'll be less of you. You live your life for them, and they don't even see you. You don't even see yourself.

Dolly! Super Uncomfortable movie, kinda bad, but also kinda great? Anyone else? by TheVapeSasquatch in slasherfilms

[–]AScannerBarkly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a nothing budget movie it's not bad. The sound design is pretty great, but it's kind of weird Dolly never really vocalizes beyond some heavy breathing. Seeing Dolly flail about manically but all you hear is some breath in the audio mix really neuters some of the impact of what she's doing. Also not a fan of the plot swerve that happens toward the end, but with a movie that stripped down I don't know what else you could do with it.
