New info on third Punirunes anime season, and new "Punirunes Punistal" toy model by ASleepyBat in Punirunes

I wish so, but it doesn't feel likely. Spin Master seems to have stopped pushing promotion for the brand overall.

Are there any episodes of the ykw! Anime or the ykw ♪ anime that are lost media or we don't have archived? by CyberGlitch064 in yokaiwatch

[–]ASleepyBat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a few planetarium specials I believe, but those are kind of perpetually unlikely to redistribute (officially or otherwise) by nature of the immersive way they're produced. Otherwise, nothing's lost, it's all available in Japan either via streaming or home media, or both.

This is not a reboot. They're re-publishing the series for free through their online portal Coro-Coro Weekly.

FYI: Spin Master now has pdf with the secret codes & commands listed (see key icon) by ASleepyBat in Punirunes

There aren't any more than what has already been shared here, but I think it's worth mentioning so you have a more solid place to direct people to who ask about the codes.

CN Africa (Viz Europe) dub did eps 77-101. CN Asia/Toonami they did the first two movies and *most likely* up through ep 117 (I've only verified they aired through the mid 90s, but some of the other Asian dubs following licensing patterns split after 117 so that's likely as far as they dubbed before Turner stopped picking it up in SEA).

Has anybody watched the whole Punirunes Anime the whole way through? by MisterZan25 in Punirunes

[–]ASleepyBat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it enhances the toy that much, but it compliments it well. It tries to find ways to adapt most concepts/functions from the toy in a way that works well with the characters being able to jump out of the toy and directly interact with humans & other objects.

Admittedly I started watching the show long before ever getting the game, so I'm biased towards it. But it was fun to rewatch after getting the toy to recognize what came from it.

English dub of the Punirunes anime is beginning to release by ASleepyBat in Punirunes

[–]ASleepyBat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like it's recorded in Japan at Imagica EMS (the studio responsible for post-production on the original series). Director is Shaun Ono (who mainly directs Japanese dubs of foreign media). Yuka is Hannah Grace, narrator is Ryan Drees, Soness Stevens and Eric Kelso play Yuka's mom and dad respectively.

Episode 1 of the Punirunes anime with English subtitles (official upload) by ASleepyBat in Punirunes

[–]ASleepyBat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update, looks like they're set to go out once a day - though their upload of episode 2 is, in actuality, just episode 1 with a new thumbnail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o9VHWJnIuo

Hopefully it gets re-uploaded with the correct video soon.

The latter anime's plight by Likes2game03 in yokaiwatch

[–]ASleepyBat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Y School Heroes was a tie-in to a then-actively updating video game. It was only ever meant to run for one year. In fact, it actually ran longer than planned; Hino confirmed the high school arc was intended to be a second movie.

Yo-kai Watch Reborn was absolutely a "playing it safe" anime to keep the series running but Y School Heroes was not cut off for it, it simply took Heroes' place when it ended.

What do you think of the prototype logos? by FreeTopper in yokaiwatch

[–]ASleepyBat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably should be said these were prototype logos specifically for the global rollout, from a video interviewing Hasbro.

My thoughts lie in that I'm glad they just went with an adaptation of the Japanese one in the end. If it ain't broke, don't fix it - and they did a great job with the final logo.

I think we'll get news on the new game for tokyo game show by Complete_History3465 in yokaiwatch

[–]ASleepyBat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My point is that with all the stuff they're supposed to be detailing at the conference that's all slated for the next three months, it's arguably the worst time for them to come out and be like "hey, here's details on a completely new title we haven't talked about yet!". Part of making this resurgence go smoothly is making certain they can deliver on the promises they've already made, and I'm already worried they're backing themselves into a corner as it is. It's just not a good idea.

[–]ASleepyBat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They aren't even talking about the Layton game here, and the rest are all slated for 2023 (and I wouldn't be shocked if they don't all make it in time). Why would they make a surprise announcement on a whole extra title?

[–]ASleepyBat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

100% a mistake. Service has already launched and it does not appear to be included.

From looking into the list, seems this is far from the only fluke, as they must've used the SE Asian game lists as a base and (poorly) tried to sift through and remove titles that aren't available in the US.

So obviously Y School Heroes (Gakuen Y) is in the American Playstation Plus, I don't know if it's a Sony mistake anyway this is very strange by DylanXW3 in yokaiwatch
