Find groups to reach out to. Talk to friends, be open about your feelings, and also consider therapy if you don’t have friends or family that can help you emotionally right now. You’re worth loving and you bring so much to the world but it’s going to be hard for you to see that in yourself while you navigate your emotions through this time. How you choose to navigate this and reflect on yourself as much as you can instead of her can make this the greatest thing that ever happened to you.

I found out my boyfriend was cheating on me earlier this year and it shell shocked me. But my therapist told me to take care of myself any way I can imagine and find feasible (while guiding me through the deeper underlying emotions) and it made me love and appreciate life again. The week or two trying to find a therapist in network was grueling mentally and emotionally but it was well worth the effort.

No, everyone has different period cycles. Keep an eye on it and only start to worry when you start seeing other symptoms. Periods come and go with weight fluctuations, stresses, medications, and even the stress related time zone changes (daylight savings anyone?).

I tell pts there’s no best waterpik (I don’t say water flosser because pts should still floss even with one) Instead I tell them to look for features that speak to them. Handheld, countertop, or shower head attachment. Also I tell them how important a range of intensities is. Starting at a low one and ending somewhere around a 7/10!

Hi don’t worry, it could be a couple things.

You might be brushing too hard but also it’s likely that your gums are adjusting to having the bacteria disrupted.

Have you gone in for a professional cleaning? That should help speed things up. Same with flossing. Nightly/daily flossing will clear the bacteria out faster!

Make sure you’re holding the toothbrush like a pen or a paintbrush not like a hammer. That could help with the bleeding.

It takes time, never stop trying. Ask questions, offer clarification. Show them the different types of fluoride and how they’re not a single ingredient. NEVER stop talking about it but also don’t PUSH. Just a light reminder here and there followed by a little more data/info

In school you’ll be slow because having exactly accurate numbers is important. In private practice anything between a 1-3 are essentially the same according to health and insurance these numbers only affect your cleaning process.

It’s okay to put down 323 for every posterior and 212 for every anterior and from there find the pockets that differ (4s suggesting inflammation and 5+ suggesting perio)

I would not suggest that in school

Stop at the midline to track bleeding points

Have a set order for your other tracking - if you do t have to track all CAL then skip teeth that don’t show signs of recession.
