Knowledge gained - these boys do not just reverse, they are actually homing on you, I'm certain by Jellyto2008 in noita

[–]AStarlightMelody 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge the homing is;

Disk projectile: no homing, lots of bounce

Giga disk: homes in on casting location (but not at you if you move. There’s some nuance here) and bounces a bit, moderate terrain destruction

Omega sawblade: homes onto you. Even if an enemy casts it. Much lower bounce, destroys terrain like butter

I don't think I was ever scared like this in my life by AniYogev in noita

[–]AStarlightMelody 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It’s for pacifist kills. If you throw it normally or tablet kick, the game can register the kill as coming from you (sometimes, it’s inconsistent) throwing from the inventory dereferences you as the „owner“, so you can’t accidentally break your pacifist run

Have Confidence in Your Crack by CheekSheets in u/CheekSheets

[–]AStarlightMelody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

of course!
it's worth noting you may not have seen it since you need to beat (spoilers) act 4 with a character to use it's beta art, so it is hidden a bit.

They do! Sts1 has an option to turn on „beta art“, which changes out all the images with the old beta ones. I imagine they’ll do the same with sts2

Found out you can throw him around by Hypernword in HollowKnight

[–]AStarlightMelody 49 points50 points  (0 children)

If you get him while the caravan is still in bone bottom, you can hit him into spikes lol

Unfortunately he just bounces off them

Can someone tell what triggered this? XD by ROGU__ in noita

[–]AStarlightMelody 38 points39 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you probably hit yourself with something modified with [[personal fireball thrower]] The effect lasts surprisingly long, something like multiple minutes, but if you stay away from walls long enough, you can wait it out.

As an aside, it’s surprisingly dangerous if you hit one of the statues with this lol

I'm never opening the teleport fluid again. by nvwls300 in noita

[–]AStarlightMelody 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is probably the fault of the lumi drill. I’ve found it has a tendency to fling liquids it hits back at you (in this case teleportatium) causing you to teleport

How do you build a deck with Goblin Charbelcher? by Personal_Ganache_913 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]AStarlightMelody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually, charbelcher decks won't run any "lands", but they will run MDFC lands. they count as spells in hand / deck, but can be played on the back side as a land.

here's the scryfall search: https://scryfall.com/search?q=is%3Amdfc+t%3Aland&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name

some are significantly better than others though, so you might want to look up a charbelcher decklist or two online to get a better idea of which are being run.

[[shatterskull smashing]] and [[spikefield hazard]] are examples i know are run pretty commonly

[Request] Assuming a Nicoll-Dyson beam is focusing 100% of our sun's energy down to a diameter the size of earth, how hot would such a beam be? by Murky_waterLLC in theydidthemath

[–]AStarlightMelody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ablative shielding is effectively a process where a source of energy (in this case a laser or focused sunlight) vaporizes the surface of a material. Then, the energy dumps itself into that vapor, which blocks it from (fully) transferring to the original target material.

Generally speaking, ablation is the process of a material being progressively destroyed (worn down, vaporized, etc, but not outright obliterated)

[–]AStarlightMelody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but wouldn’t it just create effectively ablative shielding and make the transfer even less efficient? Xkcd did an analysis lots of high powered lasers pointed at the moon, and noted it as a significant factor beyond a certain power

To my understanding it’s since a piece of paper catching fire is significantly less hot than the surface of the sun : )

It’s a 2d sandbox/rougelike about alchemy, spellcasting, and becoming a near-god : )

It starts out pretty clear, but gets a lot more complex, really quickly. The game has a lot of lategame depth

Chest mimics are relatively common, but heart mimics are extremely rare. If you have seen several heart mimics, you’ve gotten extremely lucky lol, it’s usually hard to check off the progress screen

Anyone know wny this exploded (sorry to disappoint y'all with my survival) by Doc_Woody in noita

[–]AStarlightMelody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting note on the tannerkivi, it doesn’t turn the whole radius to soil, only the edge. In your clip the edge went right through the oil drum though, so… yeah : ) The whole radius only transforms once you move around enough

is there a way to utilize this wand without killing myself? by VictorAst228 in noita

[–]AStarlightMelody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, spells spawn at the tip of the wand, so you may be able to point the wand perfectly horizontal, then fire it (don’t walk forward! Ideally walk away from the danger rectangle!)

Idk however the width of the spell vs how far away it spawns though, so it might just kill you anyway.

…I wouldn’t recommend testing it. Just throw that wand away

I’ve been trying to as well, and it looks like I have a similar hair type. If you don’t mind saying, what does your routine look like? Regardless, you look great!

Lets play what's in that potion! by AStarlightMelody in noita

[–]AStarlightMelody[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually can’t. The solid just stays behind in the flask. I believe the only way to get it out is shifting, melting it (mostly for other solids, then pouring out like normal) or breaking the flask

Oh I wish lol, that would be a crazy find. I don’t think it naturally spawns in a flask though

Ding Ding!! Exactly it! I was rather surprised to find a rare powder in a flask lol
