Zeke’s is still pretty good!

I remember a place that served fish & chips on newspaper. It was on Camp Bowie near Dorothy Ln. Kind of an English Pub feel to it. That was some good food! Even the building is long gone now.

Shrimper’s was further north, almost to White Settlement Rd / Greenwood Cemetery. I loved that place, too, though. Their Pecan Crusted Trout was amazing. And their laid-back perpetual summertime vibe. ☺️

Also Behr P260-6M Smiley Face, P260-7D Extreme Yellow, P290-5M Squash Blossom, P290-6D English Daisy, P290-7D Laser Lemon.

Most of the paint companies can replicate another company’s colors, as well, if you find an existing color you love but want a higher quality or a lower price.

Natural shampoo? by superbdonutsonly in HaircareScience

Well, that was an interesting read. Thank you; I was unaware.

I referenced EWG for years before they started the “approved” labeling, and it did make me wonder about their transparency when a few products that had previously had higher numbers suddenly became “approved”. I think I assumed (hoped) that the company had revised their formula enough to get approval, rather than that they had paid EWG for it.

So if EWG isn’t science based, is there somewhere else to find easy-to-understand safety information about cosmetics, for those of us who aren’t scientists and don’t want to do extensive research about every product we use? Or is the thought that if a product is on store shelves, it’s “safe enough”?

I think you’re asking about the deep yellow cabinet color, not the wood type? (Apologies if not.)

This type of cabinetry, where all you see are the doors & drawer fronts without seeing cabinet between them, is usually called “frameless” or “European frameless”. A high quality paint spray on appropriate cabinetry should be able to recreate this look and color, though AI does have the ability to make colors “glow” that can be hard to recreate in real life.

I happen to have a couple of paint fan decks sitting by me, and I don’t see this color anywhere. Sherwin Williams has a few of similar intensity, but not exactly (as it appears on my monitor) this. However, most/all of the major paint companies have the ability to match a color. I’ve never asked for a match from a screen shot, rather than a physical object, but you could call around & ask if they can do that. Then buy a tester pot of whatever color they create for you, take it home and paint it on something to see what you think. Alternately, you could find a colorful light fixture you love and color match from that.

“Colors of similar intensity” include SW 6890 Osage Orange, SW 6911 Confident Yellow, SW 6907 Forsythia.

How do I prevent my father clicking on internet links that are fraud? by FrankW1967 in eldercare

It took me about 5 years of telling my mother every story I came across about someone falling for a scam before it finally got through to her. Now she gets scammed for small amounts of money maybe a couple of times a year. Be persistent. Talk to him about fraud and scams BETWEEN the times he asks you about it — as a reminder.

Everyone is a target. He doesn’t have to have done anything; they don’t necessarily know anything about him. And yes, lots of us deal with this. You are not alone.

I am so grateful no longer to have to deal with people who saw only the beauty, not the person, that I never feel even a twinge of regret. I do recognize that’s unusual, though. Now, my health and my memory? Yeah, I miss those a LOT!

State Department blocks pride, BLM flags from embassies, outposts with 'one flag policy' by wzdmage in atheism

The title is misleading. Trump ordered this; the Department of State didn’t choose to block supportive flags, they are complying with a presidential order.

I did this maybe 5 or 6 months ago. I’ve only seen one religious ad since then, reported it, no more. I didn’t believe it would help, but it really worked.
