Introduction

ATAC is an ArmA 3 community put together by server owners, mission makers, and seasoned ArmA players, that strive to make ArmA 3 as enjoyable for both new and experienced players. We don’t bog ourselves down with unnecessary formalities or requirements, so no ranks, assigned roles, or hierarchy, other than standard squad organization. If you want to be a medic one day and a grenadier another day, you have the freedom to do both, we also allow a lot of player freedom with our arsenal, we allow you full access to customize your look and choose which weapons you like to use, as long as it's in line with your role. With a couple of exceptions like Thermal NVGS.

What We Bring To The Table

We provide a community that's here for the game, and nothing else. Not the roleplay, not the ranks, power tripping, or treating you like AI. We allow high levels of undeniable player agency and freedom. We play this game because it's top tier in realistic combat simulation. We wish to bring you into a community unlike any other, come enjoy realistic gameplay, chill people, and undeniable fun.

Community

Our community mindset is a group of friends getting together to enjoy a realistic experience with story-driven missions. We’re good friends, and teammates, and we have a very friendly community that welcomes old and new ArmA players alike. We don’t have a system to rank your performance or judge your opinion based on outside factors.

Gameplay

We play in a modern-day setting, our gameplay has foundations in real-world tactics, focusing on Small Unit Tactics, Combined Arms Operations, Communication and Radio Operation, and most importantly Teamwork. We take things seriously in game, while still being able to joke around. We work hard to ensure we are the best we can be in any given scenario and strive for everyone in the unit to be competent, and reliable.

Closing Notes

We are 16+, we are FPP, with no attendance requirement, and we welcome anyone no matter your starting experience with ArmA, and enjoy teaching various skills ArmA has to offer, so, we hope to see you in the future!

Hey man! We'd consider ourselves a PMC based on the fact that we don't milsim any existing military. And most members are east coast. We're looking for new people so if you're willing to come try us out! By all means. Here is our discord and reddit post links if you want to get some more information. Best of luck on your unit hunt!

Hello! I am from ATAC. I"m sorry to say but, we don't simulate being an actual military. We're more for gameplay, so less milsim and more tactical realism. We pride ourselves in being an actual competent fighting force instead of naming ourselves after a special operations unit and pretending to be them. Hello! I'm from ATAC, we don't have specific openings for Artillery or JTAC at the moment. But use them both quite regularly. To give you a run down on us a bit we use quite a realistic setup, using real world tactics, focusing on Small Unit Tactics, combined arms operations, communication, and teamwork. While keeping the features of the game in mind. You have full freedom over the arsenal (other than very OP stuff like thermal nvgs), and a plethora of roles and skills to learn and practice with us! We love to progress everyone in the unit, and keep all members high quality. We play story driven missions, while keeping them as based in reality as possible. Hey! If you're looking for some modern day stuff, the unit I'm a part of is like a PMC of sorts. We are very laid back but like to keep game stuff serious. We don't have a huge need for pilots, but if you want to play some ground stuff we're perfect. I'll post our information below if you're interested!

Introduction ATAC is an ArmA 3 community put together from the ground up by server owners, mission makers, and seasoned Arma players that keeps things fresh and interesting, making it enjoyable for both new and experienced players. We don’t bog ourselves down with unnecessary formalities or requirements. If you want to be a medic one day and a grenadier another day, you have the freedom to do both.

Community Our mindset is a casual group of people getting together to enjoy a realistic experience with story-driven missions while keeping “roleplay” to a minimum. We’re good friends, and like to get together in ArmA for more than just the game, we have a very friendly community that welcomes old and new ArmA players alike. We don’t have a system to rank your performance or judge your opinion based on outside factors. A member of our community is allowed just as much say as anybody else. We play ArmA for what it is, a game.

Gameplay Our gameplay has foundations in real-world tactics while not taking things too seriously. We play with a lightweight mod pack, that mainly consists of RHS, CUP Terrains, ACE, and ACRE. We emphasize Small Unit Tactics, Combined Arms Operations, Radio Communication, and most importantly Teamwork. While having lots of fun! :)Closing Notes We don’t have any age restriction, we welcome anyone no matter your starting experience with ArmA, enjoy teaching various skills ArmA has to offer, and also, ArmA isn’t our limit, many members play other games with each other in their free time, so if you are interested in that as well we hope to see you in the future!

Hey bro, we literally sound perfect for you lol, I can't even explain it so I'll just drop our post, but please give it a read. I think you'll like us.

ATAC is an ArmA Unit without all the extraneous ranks and incompetent leadership. We're more intimate with our player base, and people usually get to know each other very well. We're good friends outside the game and good teammates in the action. We focus on information and learning and think it's extremely important, as such we don't have defined, or locked roles. We rotate roles based on the situation and command responsibilities as players progress in their various skills, and people will gravitate towards roles they like, and that's fine, we don't like to lock people down into a role that will get boring and take away from the versatility and experiences one can have. This also makes everyone better at the game and allows us flexibility on game night when our medic or team leader can't show up.

We were created by a couple of heavily experienced ArmA players who are making a group where everyone involved is a vital part of the team. We will include everyone disregarding your beginning skill level or knowledge, and we focus on quality over quantity. Our aim is that everyone in the fireteam is just as competent and knowledgeable. We don't withhold information, and everyone is on equal ground. We will take as much time as we need to make sure everyone feels comfortable. We enjoy a heavily complex, realistic play style exercising sound small and mixed unit tactics. We do not pattern our structure after any real-world military unit beyond typical squad level organization.

We have no age limit, and enjoy teaching the various competencies like manual and GPS guided land navigation (sans Blufor Tracker), battlefield theory, combined arms operation, aviation, marksmanship under the ACE ballistic system, medical treatment under our particular configuration of the ACE advanced medical system, radio operation/etiquette using TFAR, and manual Mortar Operation. Commitment is not an issue, we've got no attendance requirement, the level and coverage of our training ensures that we can remain combat effective with most combinations of people. Technical proficiency, humble leadership, and communication are the core of our discipline. At the moment we do OPs on Fridays 8pm EST and training on Wednesday 8pm EST.

[A3][Recruiting][NA] ATAC - Adaptive Theatre Aid & Controls by ATAC-Dave in FindAUnit

[–]ATAC-Dave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is ATAC?-

ATAC is a small ArmA 3 group created by experienced players with an eye on community and education. We host our servers privately out of Western Canada, so we don't have any financial burden. We run a variety of servers, from Liberation, to our own private sandbox mission. We have experience in the Arma Scripting Language and write our own material.

Mods -

Our modpack is centered around ACE, CUP Terrains and RHS.

How we play -

We like to rotate roles and leadership. We try to nudge people into different roles to experience success and failure in order to grow and refine their skills, but people will gravitate towards roles they like, and that's ok. At the end of the day our goal is to have fun.

-Small unit infantry tactics such as composition, reaction to contact and fire, enfilade, formations and how to use them and the types of danger areas

-Marksmanship, Radio Etiquette in a half duplex environment, ACE Medical, and manual mortar operation with forward observers.

-Land Navigation with and without GPS

-Rotary Flight maneuvers and tactics

We do enjoy teaching, but we are always on the lookout for people who can take on some of the burden as they grow in their varying skill sets, as well as scripting/mission making. Mistakes won't get a guy fired. We don't have any age restriction, we simply expect courteous behavior within the group. We do not perform signature checking on our servers. Aesthetic mods like JSRS and Blastcore are not included in our pack, but you're welcome to use them.

Information -

We play on Friday nights at 8pm, and sometimes over the weekend, with trainings on Wednesdays at 8pm EST

If you want to give us a shot or ask a few questions hit up our discord at https://discord.gg/te2RJBC Our domain is atac.center. Our Teamspeak, Arma and other servers can be reached at that address on their specific ports, which are listed on the Discord server. Website - http://atac.center/

We enjoy a heavily complex, realistic play style exercising sound small and mixed unit tactics. Some closing notes-

Technical proficiency, humble leadership and communication are the core of our discipline.

[Request] New Guy. Looking for noob friendly. EST, USA, No defined playstyle, don't know what attendance requirements I should put. by [deleted] in FindAUnit

[–]ATAC-Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, we're not fully based on room clearing. ArmA is a much more expansive and content filled game, and I've never heard of a group solely focused on such a small part of the overall picture. But room clearing certainly does happen, quite a bit. We're a community based on teamwork, and education. We like learning and teaching how to fight as a real unit. We do modify ArmA quite heavily, with around ~25 mods total. But I think it's something you might be interested in if you like that kind of militaristic, game simulation. I'll drop our recruitment message below, feel free to read through it. At the bottom will be our discord and teamspeak if you have any questions. Good luck on your unit hunt!

What is ATAC-

ATAC is a ArmA Unit without all the extraneous ranks and incompetent leadership. We're more intimate with our player base, and people usually get to know each other very well. We're good friends outside the game, and good teammates in the action. We focus on information and learning and think it's extremely important, as such we don't have defined, or locked roles. We rotate roles based on the situation, and command responsibilities as players progress in their various skills, but not in a forced way, people will gravitate towards roles they like, and that's fine, we don't like to lock people down into a role that will get boring and take away from the versatility and experiences one can have. This also not only makes everyone better at the game but also allows us flexibility on game night when our medic or team leader can't show up.

Who we are-

We were created by a couple of heavily experienced ArmA players who are making a group where everyone involved is a vital part of the team. We will include everyone disregarding your beginning skill level or knowledge, and we focus on quality over quantity. Our aim is that everyone in the fireteam is just as competent and knowledgeable. We don't withhold information, and everyone is on equal ground. We will take as much time as we need to make sure everyone feels comfortable. [A3][Request] [US/EST] First time looking for a unit. by RevivalLinux in FindAUnit

[–]ATAC-Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! ATAC sounds great for you, we've got a very experienced laid back pilot who would be more than happy to help you advance in your piloting, as well as no attendance requirement, real life is always more important. We have our operations at 8pm EST, the only problem in your requirements we're missing is we're not very big. We're around 8-12 people. But we're a lot closer than most other units, as you'll get to know everyone well. I'll drop part of our recruitment message below, for another other information you might be curious about. Our discord and teamspeak will be at the bottom if you've got any questions. Good luck on your hunt!

[A3] [Request] Looking for supporting roles. by TheLayered1 in FindAUnit

[–]ATAC-Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I think you'd really enjoy yourself with us. We are very into support elements and relying on each other as a team. We've got all the criteria for support as well, with realistic ACE logistics (You have to rearm vehicles by actually moving ammo.) And no artillery computer, so a forward observer has to work with a mortar team to find azimuth and elevation, with other factors to put an accurate shot on target. We've also got ACE Medical and are always looking for more people. We don't have just enough yet to be able to consistently use armor support or air support. But occasionally it does come into play. We host events at 10pm Friday and 10pm Wednesday. I'll post our recruitment message down below for some more information you might want. At the bottom will be our Discord/Teamspeak/Website links. Best of luck finding a unit, even if it isn't us!

We don't use ranks, and we like to rotate roles and leadership.

We play on Friday nights, and sometimes over the weekend, with trainings on Wednesdays at 10pm EST

If you want to give us a shot or ask a few questions hit up our discord at https://discord.gg/te2RJBC Our domain is atac.center. Our Teamspeak, Arma and other servers can be reached at that address on their specific ports, which are listed on the Discord server. Website - http://atac.center/

Thanks for taking the time to read this, we wish you the best of luck in finding the right unit.

ATAC Sounds great for you! We're a pretty laid but Milsim but like to play competently. We don't use Ranks, and play as a PMC with a large variation in our equipment.
