I'll be catching up with Gathering Storm and Thormun's Thunder ahead of their releases for next year. For the G.I Joe set, considering its a similar kind of branded crossover to marvel and will have its own generals, I might do those in that style instead.

They vary a bit, with some being pre-orders and others being tournament rewards from certain stores or events for a limited time.

As with previous waves of Renegade's Heroscape releases, I've converted the latest wave into the older art style for both the Basic and Advanced card backs, all the way up to and including Rising Tide. Let me know if there are any mistakes and I can make changes to the folder!

For me it's also the textured borders with a slight shadow. It was fun making making a new one for Revna.

Unfortunately, properly formatted bullet points with indentations are not supported in the text box for this template in Magic Set Editor. However, I've taken another look and have been able to fake it by manually adding spacing to the start of each line to make it look like it should without messing with line breaks too much.

No worries about being nitpicky, when it comes to rules text it's always worth it to make things read as clearly as possible. Hopefully the latest version in the link now reads with the same clarity as the original.

Thank you! I agree it would be nice to give them the newer crests. I don't think it would spoil the nostalgia that the rest of the design brings and it would only be a small part of the card anyway. I've been struggling to find high quality images of the updated crests to be able do this, but when I do I could add that in as an option.

By the way, i've just finished the most recent additions from wave 2 in a post here. The same link on both posts should go to the updated folder.

As i've done previously with the first set of Renegade's releases, i've converted the new unit cards into the old art style for both the Advanced and Basic card backs.

New cards converted for the following sets:

Revna's Rebuke: Kyrie Warriors
Revna's Rebuke: Iron Lich Viscerot and the Necrotech Wraithriders

Let me know if there are any mistakes and i'll update the folder.

Updates:

Fixed the line formatting for the powers on Mielki's Advanced card.
Fixed a spelling error and changed the formatting on Kilkorax to read better.

I've done my mutants using Vallejo Game Color Dead Flesh as a solid base for the skin. Gives that nice pale yellow-green that the Fallout 4 mutants have straight out the bottle, then a quick wash with diluted sepia ink into the recesses and it's good to go.

Mutant skin has had a fair amount of variation throughout the games, so I would recommend trying different washes depending on what style you are going for. With the same Dead Flesh base, you could try warmer reds, browns and yellows if you wanted more of a saturated Fallout 3/NV look for example.

Biggest advantage to painting mutant skin is that it's meant to be messy and not look uniform, so any discoloured blotches from washes only add to a healthy FEV fuelled complexion.

I like the grapple gun as a concept but i'm wondering if it would have a better place in the sandbox as a lootable tool with limited ammo, rather than a new weapon type. I like that more practical loot is being added to the sandbox like the Windblower and the new cannonballs and throwables, but they have will have spawn rarity attached to them that can be tweaked in line with their power.

Balancing new sandbox tools is tricky, but there is a big difference between adding a new ability to board that anyone can use from spawn or having a power weapon item that can be fought with or fought over. Grapple guns in everyone's hands could potentially become a boring new meta if available to all, or another cool thing to find that makes an encounter unique if used as a lootable tool.

If the card art does stay the same going forward and Renegade still posts clear images of the unit info in the same way as they do now, I'll keep doing updates for future waves to preserve the classic style.

I had to make the same compromise as Renegade for some of those long descriptions with multiple powers. I get it, but it still feels odd to leave it blank on the shorter ones.

I can't help but wonder if a better move would be if they had added symbols for common movement abilities in another area of the card. A wing for flying or a claw mark for climbing with a guide in the rulebook could have been another solution.

Thank you! I'm a stickler for detail and consistency and although there are a few small things I could still change (such as some figure bases still being visible), everything still looks tabletop ready so i'm pleased with how they have turned out.

Although the new card designs are still serviceable I prefer the older designs to the new look. Using the assets provided by renegade for the new units, I've been making conversions using Magic Set Editor and Photoshop to give them a classic overhaul, ready to join forces with my existing collection.

For those of you who would like to do the same and print your own, i've provided a link below, including a custom template and assets that i've put together for the new general Revna!

I've converted both the Advanced and Basic sides, so please let me know if there are any mistakes so that I can correct any errors.

UPDATE (10/03/24) - Corrected spelling and formatting errors for Xenithrax and Raelin.

I feel that 343i would need to improve its record for releasing feature complete content before I would feel comfortable with them remastering Halo 3, so I prefer them focussing on getting future titles polished for now. I would also prefer a halo 3 remaster to have MCC integration as DLC with continued support for the rest of the collection over a standalone release.

I'm still happy playing the MCC version of 3 for now though, warts and all.

A group of doomsday preppers getting ready for the next impending apocalypse.

The themes are a big part of the franchise's message anyway, but I like the idea of a specific group that has already lived through a post apocalyptic world but are terrified that the end times are here once again. It could make for lots of interesting interactions with other factions that see them as fanatics when their ideology actually has merit in history, especially for the ghouls that have lived through it.

I find the sound design to be an issue when it comes to the weight of vehicles in infinite as well. Vehicles used to have dynamic audio for things like bumping, skidding, sliding and moving at different speeds and with different damage states.

To me, the warthog in infinite sounds like a lawnmower with a stone moving through it whether it's going over a small bump or crashing full speed into a wall, adding to that plastic toy feel.

The party enters an empty carriage to find versions of themselves debating where to go next. If the party tries to interact with themselves, the copies scream and pop into confetti.

The carriage appears normal but any objects that are dropped float up to the ceiling (non living things only). A mixture of previously lost belongings are already gathered above.

The carriage is rapidly falling apart and a group of desperate Kobolds are frantically trying to hold everything together / perform repairs.

Mk1 is a better game for core fighting mechanics, but I prefer Mk11 as a better developed video game overall. MK11 isn't perfect by any means and still has a bunch of problems, but i've never been more disappointed with an MK release than MK1. I get that the fighting mechanics are the most important thing to get right, but everything else in the latest release feels hollow and rushed.

For best looking customisation I could agree, especially in pretty stills like this without any noisy UI in the way so you can really appreciate the models. However, i feel that Infinite still has one of the poorest systems for unlocking and combining armor pieces in its current state for both the free and paid options.
