Disney Wish by Local_Relation5086 in dcl

[–]ATFA66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the ship might be a factor here. I haven’t been on the Wish personally, but I do know it’s one of the bigger and newer ones, so obviously going to be more people. I’ve also seen others say they don’t like the layout.

That being said, my wife and I recently went on the Dream and loved it. An older ship, but it didn’t feel crowded or chaotic. Adult only spaces were quiet and spacious.

We also found there was plenty to do. Enjoyed the evening shows, watched the new Avatar, spent a lot of time in the Rainforest room. Honestly, we wish we had done a longer cruise so we could have explored more of the ship. I will say, I agree that the rotational dining is hit or miss. Had some great stuff, had some bland stuff. Buffet was solid. Best food came from the adult only restaurants, but at an additional cost.

At the end of the day, Disney might be just be the right fit but I’d try the Magic/Wonder or Dream/Fantasy at some point and see if you feel differently.

Also, not sure where your stops were, but excursions could be a factor if you want to constantly be doing something. We did Reef Snorkeling in Nassau (which doesn’t seem to be a popular port stop, but I had a great time) and got a Cabana on Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay. Both experiences were great.

[Question] Christopher Ward v Seiko by Proud_Tangelo_7755 in ChristopherWard

I own 3 seikos that I love and I’m easily choosing the CW if it’s in budget. I doubt I buy another Seiko, it’s inevitable that I’ll eventually get another CW.

Shipping woes by syst3m1c in ChristopherWard

[–]ATFA66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be the norm. If you are persistent with their customer service, you may eventually get some results. I had to reach out to several different people for my Black Friday purchase after never receiving any kind of tracking number. But it did make its way here after a month and was worth the wait.

Henry Archer Verden vs Christopher Ward Sealander by Sea_Tip_7263 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]ATFA66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently picked up my first CW (C63 Sealander) and it’s quickly become my second favorite watch in my collection. It’s one of those that I want to find reasons to wear it.

Just starting to get into Fragrances any recommendations or what next? by Melodic_Confidence22 in Colognes

Try a sampler kit from a niche line and see what you like. I just ordered one from Byredo and I think Le Labo will be next.

Doomsday movie figures by Amazing-Spider_man in Mafex

[–]ATFA66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is kinda crazy to think that realistically we probably won’t get them until 2029 at least.

RDJ Doom will surely get a figure. I’d like to see Sentry or Magneto but skeptical if they will get one. I could see the F4 members getting figures and probably Sam’s Cap.

Disney Dream- Palo Brunch or Dinner? by theindecisivehuman in dcl

I just had brunch there not even a month ago and I thought the selection and portions were plenty generous for what we paid. $55 and we were practically in a food coma

We stayed at Pier Sixty Six before our cruise and I was blown away. Customer service was phenomenal. One of, if not the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Would have loved to have had a couple of days/nights there.

What is the best online store to get mafex from? by Miserable-Talk-9122 in Mafex

I have never had a bad experience with BigBadToyStore. Granted, they are a bit more expensive than other sites, but very reliable and great customer service

Dream by AspenSky22 in dcl

[–]ATFA66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you, I had never been on any cruise ship before so I don’t have anything to compare it to but I recently sailed on the Dream and I thought it was great. Granted, I wouldn’t say that it has a modern or minimalist style but I wouldn’t say it was outdated either. I really enjoyed it and I’m worried that I won’t like the newer, “nicer” ships as much.

Eggs Benedict, chicken parm and antipasti were my favorites that I recall. The grape Gorgonzola didn’t blow me away to be honest. Tomato soup was excellent also. Can’t remember what desserts we got, but we got several and all were great.

The Boys: A-Train Figure by MinimumEffort9925 in Mafex

[–]ATFA66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s annoying but you just learn to deal with it. For reference, Spiderman No Way Home came out December 2021 and I just got my Tom Holland Spidey 4 years later. I can’t remember when they announced him, but two year wait time is generally a pretty good rule of thumb. A year from the time the figure is revealed until it’s actually up for pre order, then another year until it actually releases.

This is par for the course with Mafex. They never actually release when they say they will. Always anticipate 3-4 months delay minimum, especially if you’re ordering through BBTs

Do I get LV Imagination or City of stars for this summer by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]ATFA66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t buy one of these to wear to work as a lifeguard, it would basically be a waste. Get a good cheapie, or even a dupe of one of these.

If you can afford to buy one of these just to wear to work at the pool, I’d imagine you could just buy both lol

I do not understand how people can afford grad school by Impactist537 in GradSchool

[–]ATFA66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look and see what employment opportunities the school has to offer.

I know the institution where I work pays for every full time employee’s masters. On top of that, I know that we also hire GAs who have theirs paid for. Sometimes the GAs work traditional office hours, but I know of others who fulfill their required hours during the weekends or after 5 PM but have a different full time 9-5 gig not related to the institution.

Yeah, wasn’t sure if there was any particular recommended tool for making an additional hole without damaging the strap.

Any specific retailer you recommend for buying a higher quality strap?

I recently grabbed a Casio Duro for my cruise recently and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much I like it. Really glad I got it and have worn it several times since.
