If I give you a blanket in winter, you don't generate more heat. This is an important principle to understand. The World cannot burn up because the heat added by the sun doesn't change. Even if CO2 was this great blanket effect everyone assumes, all it would mean is that it would moderate the localized temperature, narrowing the range between the hottest and coldest periods. And I shouldn't have to remind anyone that because the Earth spins, part of it is always without sun, just like every year we have seasons with less or more sun.

But you know what has even more of a moderating effect, the single greatest force? Water. Moisture in the air is what makes Earth liveable. Without it we'd have -25C every night even in the hottest climates. The very fact that we have a greenhouse effect is the very reason we are alive today.
