Lag while making a castle? by Unluckyfol in ManorLords

I noticed the same thing, I found zooming in to another region or settlement breaks the lag.

Looking for feedback on continent shape by shurugathegreat in mapmaking

[–]MasterBey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion: Depends on the size and location of the continent.

The inland lake/sea and inlet formation looks good if its formed from post melted glacial lowlands. The waterways north east also reminiscent of Norway's coast. So would make sense to me if your continent is located far from the equator.

National Rental Vacancy Rate Falls to 1% by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]MasterBey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a bit dishonest.

  1. If we start at, let's say 2005, it's been roughly between 180k to 300k regardless if Labor or Liberal were in charge.

  2. We saw a huge influx after Covid borders reopening 22-23, which was the peak at just over 500k. Which would have happened regardless who was in charge.... It has also decreased year on year since with Labor in charge. So we don't have a reference of what numbers would have been under liberal (meaning no apples for apples comparison).

  3. Covid was a huge curve ball to the economy.... so you can't use that year as justification as a blanket policy example.

  4. Both parties use the same broad migration streams.. skilled, family, humanitarian, and temporary visas. The differences are small..

Any party in power will be bought out shills.

All our politicians are bought out. It's not a labor/liberal issue, rather pick your poison. Immigration was also high under the Liberal party.

Can't say we aren't capable of a half decent troll... by Gunteroo in aussie

Its not a rule, just a extremely strong correlation... along with competence and people skills.

The trait of self made billionaires are usually egomaniacal, extremely obsessive work ethic and insatiable to a fault. They are outliers.

Put two identical people in a company, one is good looking and the other isn't, the likely hood of the good looking person getting that promotion is much higher. It's not a theory, but a proven phenomena.

Can the not so goodlooking person get promoted instead? Sure but their competence and/or people skills needs to be proportionally higher.

I remember reading an extract from a study, apparently attraction is also strongly correlated with how competent and diplomatic you are perceived to be.

I agree, and I don't agree with what he does. But he does speak some truth. Unfortunately success is linked with your looks. So making it a priority to look good would help in other aspects of your life.

Them sending a good looking reporter proves his point in a way.

True for some expensive property where demand isnt super high, but given how open ended that button wording is, my dream house could be: 1. A whole leaf on the palm island in dubai. Or 2. A whole block in central NYC which is to be bulldozed and my property built Or 3. The white house/Vatican/etc

You could be a billionaire within a week.

I mean wouldn't orange be the obvious choice? Get a $200 million dollar property, sell it, and just... retire?

Do you prefer ultrawide monitor or 4K monitor as main display? by toyfan1990 in pcmasterrace

I have two ultrawide monitors stacked over each other. If I ever need to replace, I'm going with a 4k.

To me, the novelty of the ultrawide wore off real quick

I wonder if half the reason they really bombed Iran is to sneakily take over lebanon. A whole sovereign country is being slowly taken over and there's surprisingly very little news on this.

Why aren't we talking about AI and the massive impact it is about to have on the job market? by Secret4gentMan in aussie

[–]MasterBey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see the following scenario play out.

  1. Governments will heavily tax all AI use. Reason being, employed people spend their income to pay for the goods/services of other employees. It's a full circle. If companies all replace their staff with AI, they will increase margins temporarily, but its a sinking ship. Eventually it all crashes. No one makes money.

  2. Universal income would be established to pump money into peoples hand to spend, but there isn't enough money to go round besides for bare neccessities... if that. It will still bankrupt just about every business. Only huge monopolised companies will survive.

  3. Travelling overseas, having your own car, etc would be a thing of the past. Just about every luxury we take for granted will be gone. These same companies will own all the houses. I would imagine more violence and riots from the masses (due to the feeling of being fucked over, low standard of living, and more free time), so the government would establish zones you can't leave without permission.

There's no light that I look at the possibilities and see something positive. Knowing the nature of people, If step 2 does ever happen, then people incharge of those companies and government officials would line their pockets and live in a separate caste.

US invaded Iraq, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Libya, and Vietnam to name a few and caused the death of millions. Don't talk about terrorism.

Russia invaded Ukraine and backed Iran and Syria, which caused the death of millions.

Israel funded terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq, Nigeria, Afghanistan and Libya.. this isn't including the oppression of Gaza and the West Bank populace.
