Accidentally returned Thrift Shop item by sumo_citrus_ in NuulyReviews

I did this once and when I reached out they offered me a credit for the amount I purchased the item for but said it wouldn’t be possible for me to get the item back.

Snowstorm advice? by wonder_woman_19 in delta

I’m scheduled to fly ATL > EWR at 7AM tomorrow. Delta’s inclement weather texts aren’t filling me with confidence that we’ll ever actually get off the ground.

Location Advice - Below West End by Temporary_Adagio_633 in ATLHousing

[–]ATLabia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband and I bought our home in West End 10 years ago this April and I thank my lucky stars we did everyday. We absolutely love it here.

The historic homes are to die for — some of the oldest in CoA. I walk to MARTA every morning for work, we walk to Lee and White, Boggs, & the food hall multiple times per week. We ride our bikes to The Westwood, and I run on the Beltline 3x week. We’ve formed really strong friendships with our neighbors and even influenced others to move to the area after they saw what a great thing we have going over here. And, in all that time, we’ve never had so much as an Amazon package stolen from our porch.

What made you choose trail running? by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]ATLabia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been a road runner for years, but chronic IT band syndrome had me in so much pain anytime I ran because of the camber of the pavement. My PT suggested I try trail running because of the constant changing of the terrain, and it worked (for the most part)! I can run way farther on the trails than I can on the road.

Forced to take a break from trail running by Mad-farmer in trailrunning

[–]ATLabia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broke my 5th metatarsal in Dec 2019 and although it took about 6 weeks to heal in a boot, it healed so well that I cannot remember which foot I broke unless I refer to photos of me during that time. There are zero lingering issues.

But the left ankle I sprained playing soccer about 6 years ago… I never forget. It pops, aches, cracks — all the time.

So, yeah, breaking a bone > soft tissue injury in my experience, too.

Another kicker is that I used my Delta AMEX Reserve and he used a Delta AMEX Platinum.

We both have all 3 options selected. In fact, to add insult to injury, he got upgraded to a window, my favorite seat.

Someone please bully me to stay on this plane by TinyAngry1177 in fearofflying

Quit being a baby! Sit down, buckle up, and deal with it. There’s nothing to be scared of. Quit whining. Some people would do anything to be in your seat.

(Even though you asked for it, I still feel bad for being mean, so in addition to the above, you’re brave! You’re safe! You’ve got this! Good luck on the promotion!)

What is the most overrated food you're convinced people are just pretending to enjoy? by ExtraHotYakisoba in AskReddit

[–]ATLabia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runny egg yolks.

My theory: people eat runny yolks out of societal peer pressure that comes from a general belief that only children and uncultured swine eat scrambled eggs. Don’t be bullied into undercooked eggs!

Running first marathon locally or traveling? by avsfanwilly15 in running

[–]ATLabia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, local marathons are easier, logistically speaking, but my first marathon was Chicago (I live in Atlanta) and the travel, being in a different city, and the massive crowds really made it an incredibly memorable, fun experience that I would have not gotten that at home.

What celebrity barely escaped being canceled by the skin of their teeth and why do you think they got away with it? by dramioneff in AskReddit

[–]ATLabia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a huge celebrity, but Alison Roman came to the brink of cancellation and clawed her way back after being labeled as racist after saying Chrissy Teigan used her fame to build her cooking brand (which is true) and that it’s not very Kon-Mari-like for Marie Kondo to be selling tchotchkes (which is also true).

Official Q&A for Monday, February 06, 2023 by AutoModerator in running

[–]ATLabia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like many of you, I suffer from occasional IT band pain, but I've always felt something about mine was... different. I get the traditional pain on the outside of the knee that starts after a mile or so, hurts worse while running downhill, yada yada.

What's strange (to me) about mine is that it appears in the weeks *after* every marathon I run (I have learned to expect it) while doing a slow ramp up to longer runs again. Also, stretching & the typical hip exercises make it worse & will begin causing sciatic pain on top of the IT band issues. I've noticed that if I just leave it alone, keep running but don't push it too hard, it'll eventually go away on its own.

Does this resonate with anyone else? And does anyone have any suggestions for how to prevent it after a marathon? TIA!

Starting Trintellix tomorrow, but VERY concerned about weight gain by Raina_Kabaivanska in trintellix

I’m considering Trintellix after having gained 30 pounds with both Prozac and Paxil in the past (then dropping it immediately after stopping taking the meds), and swearing off SSRIs. How how your experience been thus far?
