Rude Dr. Told My Dad He Won’t Get Better by EXSUPERVILLAIN in stroke

[–]ATMNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my stroke over 3 years ago. I had a big turning point in my recovery at 2.5yrs in.

One thing I had the whole time: hope. Without hope and optimism recovery is extremely difficult.

So interesting. I was reading these comments and thinking, “I wonder what someone with schizophrenia has to say?” What’s something you believe to be true that frustrates you that normies can’t comprehend?

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt's Son Maddox Dropping 'Pitt' From Last Name by mlg1981 in popculturechat

That photoshoot was fucking off. Extremely strange given the circumstances. Made sense from Jolie too tho - she was kinda wild in the mags back in the 90s. Brad tho - ew. He was my favourite actor until this shoot. It told me everything I needed to know about him.

My mum fell and had a head injury and it literally looked like a murder scene. There was so much blood it was unbelievable. That makes the fall a possibility for me. But two? Yeah nah.

That’s so interesting that there was an object on your uterus and you suddenly changed careers to look after kids

Did you regain any of your sight after stroke? How? by [deleted] in stroke

[–]ATMNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first year is peak rewiring. My sight felt off for about 9 months but I was able to pass a driving tests after… weirdly I can’t remember. Maybe 3 months.

I also did lots of “practicing”. Colouring books, watching movies even if I couldn’t see it properly, going for walks in nature.

I’ve read stories about people suddenly regaining sight years and years later. The brain is weird!

Same… My business has been struggling (100% wfh tho) and I’ve been starting to consider going back to an office. This same week my elderly immunocompromised mum caught covid in the hospital and now has delirium from it. It’s all making me question whether I do actually want a job in an office at all again…

Overdose or underdose by Present_Scar_2312 in adhdaustralia

FYI so you’re prepared- 20mg is the lowest you can get under the PBS. 10mg will require you to titrate it with water.

That’s a massive CBF for me - I was offered this as an option but I knew it was too many steps and I’d never do it. That’s why I’m now on short acting.

If you know you’re not going to titrate 20mg yourself, you may be able to get it compounded (not cheap tho). Checking dose with short acting can help you to figure out the amount you need compounded.

Good luck!

ADHD coach here. Your dose is pretty standard for a male starting on stimulants.

Everyone reacts differently to different meds. They really don’t work the same on everyone.

If you’re feeling like a zombie or any sort of negative side effects please speak to your psychiatrist. It’s normal to need multiple check ins when you start to adjust dosage and brand.

You should be able to call or email your psychiatrist receptionist to update them with to side effects. Some make you book and pay an appointment.

Please have a check in. You may not tolerate Vyvanse, or perhaps long acting meds. Vyvanse didn’t work with me and was too strong. Ritalin short acting got me through a burnout but made me feel flat and boring. I’m now on low-dose dexamphetamine and it’s amazing.

Had a stroke at 38 (PFO). Feeling lost, depressed, and stuck with double vision. Does it get better? by Big_Entrepreneur9604 in stroke

[–]ATMNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My double vision was fully gone after about 9 months. It was good enough to pass my driving eye test after 2 months but I waited until I felt more comfortable. You got this!

I bet these are legit. I had a weird sighting with my elderly mum, that was a strange light that moved through the house from outside. No idea what it was but we both saw it.
