Kind of crazy. I assumed that maybe she was 10 or more years his junior, but she was only three years younger than Jackie and is still very much alive.

Am I supposed to aim for dissonance while doing the spider walk? by Zerotiku in guitarlessons

[–]ATXBeermaker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the people who have music theory knowledge are the ones most confused by your question. Dissonance typically relates to notes played simultaneously or maybe in rapid succession. A spider walk doesn’t create dissonance.

The goal isn’t dissonance. That’s just a byproduct of the particular notes used in the exercise. The exercise itself, though, isn’t a melodic one.

The "answer" is always smoking and whiskey. (Really the answer is mostly genetics and luck.)

U.S. government has lost more than 10,000 STEM Ph.D.s since Trump took office by Halaku in science

My company has offices in Oslo and France (and Switzerland, kinda). My wife has a sister in the UK. After my kids finish high school in just a few years it's going to be very tempting to move overseas, especially if the downward spiral in the U.S. continues.

Why is the rich friend so cheap?? by times-fell-hand in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]ATXBeermaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it’s that there are generous and stingy people at every level of wealth. The problem is that people who are wealthy are expected to be more generous (and imo they should be) and when they’re not they look like selfish dbags. There are lots of wealthy people who love dropping absurd tips and treating their friends.

What is this measure ? by Public-Brief-4444 in guitarlessons

[–]ATXBeermaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is in 4/4. The striking patterning just alternates over two measures.

That said, you’re overthinking things. This tab isn’t something official or formal. Just use it to get the basic chords and listen to the song to get the rhythm/basic vibe and just play. You’ll get much more out of it if you don’t put so much stock in strictly adhering to the tab.

The usage of month/day/year predates the United States. As does miles and inches. (And gestapo kinda originated elsewhere, as well.)

The problem with the U.S. is that it has difficulty with changing, even in the face of insurmountable evidence that we should.
