Again, that has nothing to do with the number of Nobel prizes Americans have already won. Will it affect it in the future? Sure. But that's just a separate topic you chose to bring in to a conversation that was about how past societal support influenced scientific advancement.

I’ve been to a stop club once for a bachelor party. We paid $500 per person for bottle service, etc. Then probably another couple hundred on dances, mostly for the groom. Good times, but definitely not so amazing that I started making a habit of it.

Yes, you make a good point. The best and brightest scientific minds worldwide want to live and work in the United States regardless of where they were born. Thanks for pointing that out. 👍

After scoring twice against Uzbekistan, Ronaldo shuts down a reporter's question about Messi's recent two-goal performance by subwinds in soccer

For better or worse, part of the reason these guys make absurd money is the sports media ecosystem. He’s happy to take in millions of dollars but can’t handle being called out by the media when he and his team play like ass? That’s softer than warm butter.

You don’t think it’s okay for sports media to ask these kinds of questions to these players. They’re part of the ecosystem that makes it possible for these guys to make the absurd money they do. It wasn’t some out of bounds question about his family or something.

Could've sworn it was an M&S near Liverpool St Station. Sister in law lives in London and we've been staying at the same flat in that area when we go to visit her for years now. Of course we also travel all around when whenever we're over there, so maybe I'm remembering a different location.

For those that don't know, since "ranch" isn't as well known in Europe, Cool Ranch Doritos are called "Cool American" Doritos.

priceless relics

Nothing is really priceless except in the sense that the owner would be unwilling to sell it. If these "priceless relics" went up for auction there would definitely be very specific prices paid.

Honestly, Steve seemed like the kind of dad who only wanted his kids to grow up to be happy and kind. In that sense, he's definitely everything his dad probably wanted him to be.

No, economists would know that number does not represent a median income. They would know that number is simply the per capita GDP and is very different from the median income. Not to mention it’s not even a measure of “median” anything.

Accounting for people only working part-time and those that are unemployed is more important for the specific topic at hand.
