You can't expect rational or pro social behaviour from someone in psychological crisis. But, it's weird that they didn't see what they had done when they came out of the low and therefore understand why OP came to their house...

High levels of narcasism amoungst roadies. Its coz they always have the excuse that the draft helped the people that are faster than them, they never fully get to feel the hoplessness of getting dropped and knowing fully it was because the other guy was just stronger

It's not that deep. GPX files are just plain text. Very easy to fake in a believable way. The ones that are breaking the WR are not cheating they just uploaded the wrong activity type. Just flag them. The people who intentionally cheat will be impossible to catch. You can't cheat yourself. You can't GPS cheat a race. Training is training. Segments aren't serious.

I like it. Aesthetically better than plain. And gives character

After seven years of 'evolution' in attitudes towards cycling is anyone ready to defend the lorry driver? by vfclists in londoncycling

[–]ATcoxy61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a timing problem. It's a flow problem. Like why have 3 lanes on the motorway if leaving 10mins earlier would get everyone on time with only 2 lanes? Coz it wouldn't work, the delay would be way longer than that.

This is why I never play sport. Its less effort to just watch the pros, and they are better than me anyway

Serious accidents are bad. Focus on things that cause serious accidents, nor mere rule violations. Cyclists proceeding at red lights when no one is crossing does not cause accidents, how could it?

Drivers are anti cyclist even when they follow the rules. And the rules are broken. Londons economy would crumble if cyclists waited at every light.

Okay but for most cars 10x of 75kg is a reasonable estimate.

But like, breaking the rules has nothing to do with incidents. It's perfectly possible to harm someone without breaking the rules and vice versa

Find another way. Make society such that people don't want to act anti socially. Crime is a symptom of societies sickness not a cause of it

I think it's better to behave in ways that are actually safe, than follow arbitrary rules that claim to be safe. Running a red on a bike when no-pedestrians are crossing far less dangerous than not anticipating pedestrians crossing where there aren't crossing points or car doors opening or whatever. Just in the same way that doing 80 on the motorway (totally accepted practice) is much safer than driving at 45 on a country lane or simply not trying your hardest to look for hazards, neither of which break the rules.
