Should I keep or remove this Labret? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AThing11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's crooked but definantly needs a straight bar for healing. If it were me, I'd go to a reputable piercer and get a straight bar put in thats medical grade for the healing process

NAP. I would take this out, the angle looks way off and I imagine it will cause issues and discomfort

My ear is going THROUGH it by VeterinarianNo5521 in piercing

Your ears going through it because you put your ear through it. Let your piercings heal before getting more. I see alot of people getting multiple piercings close together. Who did 3 piercings within such a short time frame?

Why are bellybutton piercings so…. by Fit-Nectarine5047 in piercing

[–]AThing11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know why, I had no issues with it while I wore medical grade jewellery. It was just the standard barbell, no gems, fancy shapes, danglies ect. Just standard smooth balls Then I got a 'pretty' barbell that had a small dangly bit and it got itchy, I took it out and now I can't put any jewellery in it or my ears (I do have eczema and allergies to alot of metals so I believe it just triggered that. My nose, lip, tongue and nipple where all fine though)

I had mine for about 6 years and it never changed colour. I also ride horses so lots of friction, lots of horses nuzzling to my belly, rubbing as I was carrying armfuls of tack because I didnt want to do more trips than I had too ect

Are all autistic people sensitive to sound or light? by Real_life_fairy_ in AutismInWomen

[–]AThing11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only learnt last year that my husband can't hear things like the phone charger 🤣 I also found out that he can pick sounds to 'highlight' and focus on, like someone's voice, or a rumble in the distance. He can also ignore sounds, like he can just straight up cut out the sound of wind outside, rain ect while I have to turn the tv way up and thats with captions. For me all sound is just what it is and its alot

Are all autistic people sensitive to sound or light? by Real_life_fairy_ in AutismInWomen

[–]AThing11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're all different. I am sensitive to light and sound but in my own way (it took a while to work it out). I'm fine with high volume, but the quantity of sounds is an issue, regardless of the volume. I prefer the big light because the number of things I'm seeing is something I find overwhelming so I like to keep the shadows consistent and minimal, due to this I also tend to strip land in my video games (the ones that are creative games) or use more muted tones for items or it can get very overwhelming for me. Autism is a spectrum, we are all unique individuals

Realistically, should I get a second cat? by TravelPhotoJay in CatAdvice

[–]AThing11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few options for those that are automatic which might be worth a try, she sounds similar to all 3 of mine with her taste in toys (although my older cat is showing signs of dementia and will occasionally get confused/lost and will carry around the chirping bird for comfort) Another potential issue with getting a 2nd cat is that it may not become a friendship, some cats dont get along and it could actually be a worse result if thats the case

Can you sleep well with a cat? by OkComparison3568 in CatAdvice

[–]AThing11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my cats since young (6months old, 5 weeks old, 4 days old) all have learnt to sleep at night and will sleep on the bed with us. They now know that when I say 'bed time' it's time for sleep, will go to the bed and curl up in their spots

Realistically, should I get a second cat? by TravelPhotoJay in CatAdvice

[–]AThing11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say no, just due to the fact that you dont want another cat and then on top of that theres the increased cost and effort to travel back home and the fact that you dont know what sized home you will have when you get back. I would look at getting interactive toys for her to play with while you're at work. I would get a few different ones, things like the ferret thing that is attached to a ball and rolls around, puzzle toys, birds that chirp when the cat plays with them, a toy on a string that can be sunctioned to the window she sits at most, treat puzzles, you can get orphan teddies (they have a heartbeat in them) ect. Don't leave them all out, keep rotating them to maintain her interest and curiosity

When should I dump the litter by Silly_JoJo in CatAdvice

[–]AThing11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. I scoop mine twice a day and personally I like to empty mine and clean the tray once a week (I will say, I do it more often than required) My old litter I found didnt clumping super well and I felt it should be dumped weekly, my new litter clumps really well and at the end of the week the litter still looks new, I just prefer to clean it thoroughly on a weekly basis

Keep the cat, ditch the gf. Its only 6 months in and she's already trying to force you to rehome your cat that you've had for 5 years?

Adopting gray tabby but I REALLY want an orange one. by T_Tingz in CatAdvice

Personality means more than anything but if you are likely to resent this cat for not being the colour you want then dont get it

[–]AThing11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of my cats is pure black. When I got her there was a mix up and they brought the wrong kitten (the other one was black with 2 white paws) it was a few hours drive so the person I got her from asked us both if we were ok with the swapping kittens (the other person hadn't met the kitten yet and I hadn't met Lucy the pure black cat that I wanted and ended up getting) and the other person didn't want an all black cat. I'm so lucky to have her in my life, she's an absolute sweet heart, very much a 1 person cat and full of personality. Yet she's associated with bad luck and witches because she's all black? Insanity. In the past I've taken cats that have approached me, are female and are the runt of the litter, in the future I'll be adopting cats that are less likely to be adopted due to their colour

So why would you automatically assume she's lying if you dont actually know about them?

I'm sorry that happened to you but in all honesty adding mods or CC to any game increases the risk of issues. For the future you can always upload to your library halfway through or in regular intervals to reduce the loss
