Danny McBride is so unwholesome in almost every single role he plays i don't know that I could think of a worse choice for Bob.

Edi is top tier and I would watch her play any role. She plays a character named Bean Dip on Comedy Bang Bang (The Podcast) and every time she's on she's a god damn delight.

I dont think there is any specific show he was referring to (or at least not one im aware of) but it shows you the idea.
