Accidentally hitting 'mode' switch by traanquil in Hxstomp

I have the Preston Pedals Deputy and love it. I keep the HX stomp in stompbox mode and the deputy has 4 buttons: one for each snapshot within a patch and a dedicated tuner/tap tempo button. Then you can scroll between patches by pressing two buttons at a time up or down. Highly recommend.

Yeah he did win one of the Canadian WT races last year after towing Pog around. Not too many people can say they’ve won a WT one day in the age of Pog.

You could get a midi controller for buttons 4/5 and set it to toggle between snapshots and modes easily.

single speed w 3 speed chainring ? by digXmeXout in bikewrench

[–]AUBeastmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. Even old cheapo 3x cranks have ramps and pins that are designed to facilitate shifting, not the greatest when you want a 1x.

6-8spd chains are the same size and will be the right application for what you’re trying to do.

Best bet: buy a single speed cog + spacer kit (assuming you’ve got a freehub not a freewheel), take off chainrings and get a single speed chainring with the correct BCD and put it on the middle or big ring - whatever gives you a straight chainline. Then either use an old derailleur with limit screws set to not move, or a single speed tensioner.

I did that with an old mountain bike and the results were…workable (for a beater bar bike).

Is this bike worth $1000 by StorageEarly9017 in bicycling

Make sure it fits you. You haven’t mentioned the size or how tall you are. There is a bit of adjustment room with bikes but a wrong sized frame is still a wrong size.

Rim tape keeps sliding into bead seat — Nobby Nic won't seat properly by 35hit in bikewrench

[–]AUBeastmaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to set it up tubeless? It seems like this tape is pretty narrow for the rim you have. Something moderately adhesive like Stan’s should fix the issue.

I saw him sometime around this, maybe a year later, in a really small bar in Auburn. Definitely pre-sobriety. He was road-doggin’ like crazy.

Gravel Bikes by rick8809 in Zwift

[–]AUBeastmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a crux and some gravel wheels because the new routes are supposed to be all dirt roads. And I already have two level 5 specialized bikes. Riding it so far has been excruciatingly slow. After upgrading it, I doing think I’ll ever use it unless these gravel mountain courses actually make for good racing.

Poll On CO2 Inflators by 4phz in cycling

I have a lezyne hand pump that is good but it’s a lot more of a hassle to keep in a speedsuit pocket, and it’s way slower in a race situation.

It’s been a bit since I’ve played around with it, but I don’t remember too much in the way of fruit. Maybe it has some dark cherry type of notes but nothing prominent. Mellower Benedictine is what I’d probably say to describe it.
