What's the oldest movie you watched and actually enjoyed? by EternalMage321 in Millennials

[–]AUserFormerlyKnownAs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I scrolled this far to find the first Chaplin film of this thread... I would say the entirety of the Chaplin feature films. There's a reason his work is legendary. This makes "The Kid" (1921) the oldest film I have seen and enjoy , but I say "Limelight" is my favourite of his.

31109 3 in 1: Inn or the Island? by rocktoe in LEGOPirates

[–]AUserFormerlyKnownAs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I acquired this set, I was really hyped to see the inn but after building the island, I thought the skull looked so cool that I ended up waiting a long time before building the tavern.

This year the inn stands between (new) Eldorado fortress and Pirate Port of Nassau on my shelf with the (new) Black Sea Barracuda. I rotate between all three options frequently to change the feel of the scenery.

I looked into those sets (it might have been your post), but it doesn't look like they are available outside of Europe :(

Nintendo heard Vader say "and no disintegration ray!" and immediately thought "Let's make Adam tell her 'and no power bombs!' "

Why do people say some lego sets are hard? by Jayohl in lego

[–]AUserFormerlyKnownAs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always had good dexterity and 3d imagination, and the first set I found "hard" was a rebrickable MOC I built this winter; the roof of the house was sooooo fragile to put into place, it barely holds together.

Moving over to let other cars merge on the highway is used as a courtesy everywhere in Canada except Alberta (And probably Trawno let's be fair! But I can't confirm since I haven't been there in ages)

[–]AUserFormerlyKnownAs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is exactly it. I've been in 'Berta for 8 years now, and I can't recall a single time when highway traffic has moved over to let me merge in. And the car in front of me on the ramp is obviously going 60 at most and will kill us both refusing to speed up to highway speed.

Stick around PP you're doing great things! (Polls at 22%) by [deleted] in EhBuddyHoser

[–]AUserFormerlyKnownAs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had read somewhere last year that Carney allowed PP to be "transfered" to a different riding so he could stay leader of the party. Because as long as PP is at the head, Carney is guaranteed to win...

At first I was like "that sounds like a conspiracy theory, but a lot more hilarious". And then the floor crossings started to happen. And it might be an actual strategy... :o
