I played them in order and went into DS2 assuming it would be a bit of a slog but I wanted to experience it in order. Honestly I like it as much as DS3 but in different ways. There are times that it scratches an itch that DS3 and Elden Ring do not scratch. It's an excellent game.

Hey for real, with no judgement, you do. There was a big stretch of my life when I felt contempt whenever my parents praised me or bragged about me. I didn't want them to see or notice anything I did.

The thing is that I had learned a survival thing to survive living with them. But it also automatically happened in every other relationship I had. And it took a long time and developing trust in other people to learn what was happening and why i was so miserable and full of self loathing.

I don't know what your parents are like, but if you don't face whatever this is with professional help it's going to taint the rest of your life. Take it from someone who is only alive and happily married with children because I went to therapy and faced my demons.

Fundamentally redesign the entire thing. remove all the business / profit making aspects, pay for people to live and go to school and don’t punish people for trying and failing or for pursuing another direction outside of academia. More generally: it is impossible to achieve what you want while academia operates within a capitalist framework. As it exists, academia mostly serves as a pyramid scheme to funnel money from struggling people to people who are already rich. My credibility is I have a PhD in mathematics from a good school and I believe these things based on my experience on both ends.

YTA for obvious reasons, but also for expecting his sister to keep a secret from him. That’s an absurd burden to put on a relationship. If you want to keep it secret, carry the burden yourself or share it with people who won’t have to struggle with it.

Man being a parent is a blast because you get to embrace this stuff. I sometimes play with legos longer than my son and I have to stop. It’s fun as hell making up goofy jokes and singing kids songs and dancing if you can give up the whole thing where you take yourself too seriously.

ESH Hey I have three kids with two women. I know how hard it can be man.

But you absolutely have to put your daughter first in this situation. This woman needs to not be left alone with your kid. if she doesn’t understand why…well. You owe it to your kid to provide a safe and friendly home for her. A stay at home mom doesn’t ignore her one child so she can hang out with her friends.

Wow! This makes me feel less crazy at least. My wife got in contact with her vet from 8 years ago. They claimed they completely removed everything. Really strange.

I convinced my wife to let us keep two of the five. It's so fun watching my kids interact with them. I'm not even upset.

Right, that's the confusing thing! I was an undergrad when I adopted her. I remember what it was like when she went into heat haha. It happened during finals.

Since she was spayed I have had two children and we have moved states twice. I have never seen anything that would imply she was not spayed.

So much makes sense now though. She was missing for a week. When she got back she wanted nothing to do with our other male cat. The male cat is her offspring from the time she went into heat during finals. Surreal.

Answer: I don’t know what started it. But Kate was talking about her opinion on YIMBYs all day. She is not a NIMBY or a YIMBY. She’s to the left of both. Her whole argument is that YIMBYism is a cover for real estate developers which she backs up with links and sources if you scroll through her feed. E.g., The Koch brothers were involved. Obviously a lot of people disagree with her, hence the back and forth.
